Amnesty failed to address their issues, meetings with their elders right from Obj to Jonathan only gave birth to distrust, Adaka Boro felt short changed in the course of the civil war and he launched a front agitating for the Emancipation of the People of Niger Delta he created a "mini civil war" for 12 days before he was defeated and eventually murdered. Sari Wiwa an environmentalist came on board to champion the cause of liberation and survival for the Niger Delta people through a front he named MOSOP at last he was set up on trumped up charges and together with his 8 kinsmen "taken off" and the destruction of lives, resources in the Niger Delta rages on till date. If there should be a place that can be called "as beautiful as Frankfurt, California, Dubai or Paris" in Nigeria such places should be situated first in Niger Delta areas, alas none of such could be found there. Agitations from the brave hearts in this region have been resisted with unalloyed brutality from the powers that be, and now the Avengers, off shoots of Asari's erstwhile Force had risen so what is Bismarck saying? Address the Confab report and do the needful or forget peaceful resolution. Nigeria is one sham these militants are not interested in, so also some aggrieved ones even in our Southwest. My point! 1 Like 1 Share |

One of the studio audience said something about the ND Scavengers that was very salient. She said the militants or people that GEJ gave scholarship to, to study different courses abroad have finished and they are back in the country without any job. They were backing on GEJ will still be in power by the time they return and the Federal Armed Robbers Council or Federal Looters Council led by our Hero, the Mandela of Otuoke, would have fixed them up. The election went south for Jonah and he was kicked out. Remember the NDS are claiming they are graduates and they are well read. They embraced militancy because they do not have job and they want to avenge their benefactor's electoral loss. |

Rubbish. Since Rewane is such a brilliant economist, while doesn't he draw a graph that would show the relationship. A̶̲̥̅̊Ω̴̩̩̩̥D̶̲̥̅̊ OP, I can see Y̶̲̥̅̊ø̲̣̣̥ǖ J̶̲̥̅̊u̶̲̥̅̊ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇τ̣̣̥ put on your Generator. Happy Buhari Democracy day |

SuperS1Panther: Very good point made. I remember back during the amnesty period, I never stood for it. Rewarding criminals for Crimes. That is why I will always stand against negotiations with Terrorists. We had law abiding citizens roaming the streets looking for jobs and scholarships to get educated. The country chose to educate criminals who carried guns and caused havoc. Leaving the law abiding but stranded students wishing they picked up arms. The reward is, educated and empowered criminals/terrorists. |

TheGoodJoe: The Amnesty Programme will go down as one of the worst initiatives of any government in this county. It was a programme that sacrificed temporal peace for meritocracy. It was a programme that rewarded criminality and down graded hardwork. It was programme that sent a wrong psyche message to the coming generation. It was only a matter of time, we would always have some demented souls claiming to be militants and commencing bombing again and they will expect FG to fly them to Abuja in Presidential Jet too and they will be given another Amnesty and security contract and they will be made. In 2years time, another group will surface and the cycle will never end. The Scavengers will only succeed in bringing more misery pain and sorrow to that region. I believe they need to first demand accountability from their leaders first. With all the initiatives of the FG for that region, the level of infrastructural development and probably human capital development in the region is not commensurate with the amount of funds that had been sunk into region through 13% derivation, Amnesty Programme, NDDC/OMPADEC, Min of Niger Delta, CSRs of Oil Majors and the normal FG allocation. 1 Like |

SuperS1Panther: If the Federal Government wanted to sink money into educating the Niger Delta youths, a large scale scholarship and vocational training would have gone a long way in educating the region and promote hard work. It would have been a means to Channel the youths into productivity. Investment in Agricultural products in the area would have also helped. But, we chose to reward criminals and fuel their philandering lifestyles. I hope we learn from our past mistakes. The youths of the Niger Delta should know that these men are playing Ludo with their future. If we keep on fighting an imaginary enemy, we will lose sight of who are really harming us. Let us demand accountability of what is coming in. |
