We Won’t Negotiate With Niger Delta Avengers – Army by Nobody: 6:25am On Jun 01, 2016
THE Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has ruled out negotiations with the Niger Delta Avengers.

Buratai said the strategy is to first smoke the militants out of hiding.

Buratai made the position of the Federal Government known on Tuesday in Abuja at the “State of the Nation Conference” organised by the Nigerian Bar Association.

Buratai, who was represented by Major General J. Hamakim, justified the ongoing onslaught against members of the Niger Delta Avengers.

He said: “I quite agree that dialogue is very important.

“But where it is not too obvious that the adversary is ready to come out and talk, you can also force such a person.

“I think that is what the Nigerian Army is trying to do.

“Yes, we don’t know the group’s leaders for now.

“That is the only option.

“Possibly, we have to bring the people out to know who you can dialogue with.”

Buratai said the activities of the group were affecting the nation’s oil production, which has plummeted to 1.1 million barrels per day.

Buratai also spoke on the confrontation between the Nigerian Army and pro-Biafra protesters on Monday.

He said: “Remember that lives were lost; policemen were killed; some were thrown overboard and the military has rules of engagement.

“The question is how peaceful is the peaceful demonstration?

“How peaceful was the demonstration at that time?

“If it was that peaceful, how come we lost security agents?

“The rule of engagement is that if you feel threatened, you have the mandate to respond.

“What we can say is: that was not at all a demonstration that you can say was peaceful.”

Buratai said other security agencies were “overwhelmed” during the protest, hence the deployment of the military.

He who sows the wind, will reap a whirlwind.

The doubts of militants and secessionists about Nigeria's ability to defend herself must be cleared once and for all.

Imagine the rag tag criminals daring to fire at, and even throw Nigerian security agents overboard to drown in the River Niger; the Armed Forces know just how to treat those that act like murderous animals.

Thank goodness the false cloak of 'unarmed protesters' has been finally ripped off especially as confirmed by the Anambra State Government itself. IPOB and NDA have shown themselves to be terrorists that must be dealt with.

The mentality of the President is not different from that of ahmadu bello, they have a conqueror mentality. That's what buhari is displaying. Thats why their quest for power knew no bounds, there was no limit, they needed someone who sees Nigeria as a conquered territory and now he is in power aided by some people who deceive themselves and others with the one Nigeria slogan.

There can be no peace and development in this country if some people still think with the mindset of a conqueror, and without the practice of true federalism, it would continue to be deja vu .

seems you were offline when soldiers were drowning last week

obj and yar adua tried . they failed. your type dont knwo any thing about swamp warfare . you just sit in yiur hole and keep
shouting crush them like buhari did initially and has now lost 40% oil production. if you read well. the army cannot identify the NDA which means they are chasing ghosts. good luck catching them. maybe when we produce 100 barrels a day we can finally think.
