The Delta State Government on Wednesday rejected the inclusion of the state as part of the proposed Republic of Biafra, reaffirming the belief of its people in one and united Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Chief Festus Agas, the Delta government called on people of the state to remain law abiding and go about their normal business without fear.

According to Agas, “we object in its totality, the inclusion of Delta State without our consent in the proposed Biafra Republic. This clarification has become necessary to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding regarding the status of Delta State in the renewed Biafra agitation.”


Continuing in the statement, he said; “while some communities in Delta state may have cultural affinity with the people of the South East, it is clearly a patent error for anybody or group to suggest or insinuate that Delta state or more specifically the Anioma people have been or are part of the South East that is supposed to make up the proposed Biafra Republic”.

Frowning at the renewed agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, for the realisation of independent State of Biafra, he said the campaign which has been in form of rallies in the South East, often extends to the South-South State, notably Rivers and Delta.

Those Delta state officials are from Urhobo and Itsekiri they are free to join Oduduwa republic.

They are in the minority. The Ijaws constitute 11% of nigeria population.

The Ijaws, Ibos, Cross river and Akwa ibom will merge together. We are satisfied with that.

My governor is saying trash,asaba is part of biafra .

Clown, because some few ignorant youths protest for Biafra in delta make Delta state Biafra? 1000 Ipob youths does not represent 10 million Delta people. U are dreaming, u should just accept the fact that Biafra consist only of the 5 core Igbo states. There is no two ways about it, unless u want to keep living in denial, Stop claiming u were divided by the government, check Nigerian history, all regions were divided before the creation of more states. U are saying Nigeria is a forced marraige, meanwhile u are forcing Biafra to them even tho they have been rejecting and rebuking u people everytime
