Its simple, if you look at the Example, the only valid solution that is the same for all scenarios is add the highest value to the lowest value. E.g. 8+2=10, 30+1 = 31 etc. Well, I think like an artist not a mathematician! Lol, I am right though!

Exactly you got it right.... Reminds me of secondary school days when you get a question paper you Add subtract multiply and divide all the values until you get a value thats among the options given

I ain't dull people. Here's the formular:
*Add all the numbers, get ur answer
*Add the two numbers that isn't the lowest and isn't also the highest.
Next is subtract the 2nd answer from the 1st answer. That's ur final answer
E. G
2+4+7+8=21
4+7=11
21-11=10
Final answer=10

smallest digit + the big digit gives u the answer. e.g. 1+10=11.

Like an inverse of RANGE

2 plus 8=10

1 plus 10= 11.

1 plus 30= 31

I think you are correct because I was wondering what will happen to the other numbers if one adds the highest and the lowest to get the final answer. This your formulae is the best way to solve it.
