NIGERIAN BANKS: So Much Noise About Integrity by naijaboy756: 6:55am On Jun 01, 2016
Just read that Fidelity Bank has refunded $198M to the Nigerian Government. Where was internal audit and internal control when these funds where been moved? Rubbish!!! All you see in the banks is the harrassment and intimidation of lowe cadre staff by internal control of banks while the MD's and ED's move and steal billions. So where is the integrity they make soo much about? They should stop making noise joor!

I'm not sure if it's the economy or are banks turning to the biggest scammers and exploiters ever.

In civilised country, when a company is found wanting, they sack all the head of department! But for Naija, reverse is the case undecided

That's why they are all declaring losses.
The boards should be jailed.
There has to be serious reform in the sector

Control officers (auditors) are management's slaves.. They do their (management) bidings. Very silly set of nincompoops. All they know is to add 1k to your cash, and if by mistake or whatever means that 1k gets missing, they will tage you "you have intergity issue". You need to know how profit is being shared in banking sector.. Those people at the top are devils. Bastards!
laginks:
whine all you want.....
You just wish you can also be a control or audit person too....
if you have problems declaring an overage in the cash transactions you handle, then just resign cos you arent fit for the banking sector..case closed..

a control officer spoted. Lol overage my foot. The overage tellers declares, which account are they being remitted to? When shortage occurs, is the overage used to augment? Hypocrite.

Humans are inherently corrupt. It's just about not getting caught. True integrity (not eye service or expedient integrity) is extremely rare.

Nigerian banks do not engage in real banking, that is the reason they are struggling now. They are mostly dependent on government money to survive. Now with the TSA and the paucity of funds at state level, most are struggling.

Banks are supposed to loan money to the real economy so that people can create wealth.

The internal auditor will at best report the anomaly to the board audit committee. And so? If the board members are already aware, what else do you want the internal auditor to do? Blow the whistle to CBN or EFCC? Remember they are employees too.
