The establishment Republicans, since May 10, had long given up on this election. They know Trump would be toast in November, hence they can't be bordered to put up a rigorous defense of him when he comes under fire from Hillary.

Jake Tapper didn't let up on him at all. For all intents and purposes, his honey moon with the media is over.

It's the same movie I have seen since 2008. the media largely treated the Republican front-runner in 2008 - McCain - with kid gloves. Then, as from June of that year, when Obama became the Dem presumptive nominee the MSM started their attacks on McCain all the way to the general election.

The same thing happened to Romney in 2012. He was cuddled by the MSM up until late April, when he became the presumptive nominee. From that point, he faced a barrage of both Obama campaign attack ads and stinging missiles from the news media essentially bashing him for being a multi-millionaire.

So, a Trump should expect many more missile from the media. The media are only "warming up", they'd ramp up their campaign against him from July till Election Day.
