So, I managed to get some sleep, but that was in the middle of another round of waist pain, which has already disappeared again... But I'm still feeling the pressure and belly hardening... Me i dont understand this one oh... I've pooed 3 times between last night and this morning... And I'm extremely hungry... Doctor said I shouldn't come to the hospital except the pain is unbearable, I lose my mucus plug, or break my water... So, is this real or false labor... Is it possible to have false labor for over four hours at a stretch? I'm confused... Someone please help a sister... Mtchewwww!!! Na now nepa dey bring light... 1 Like |

MY BIRTH STORY @39weeks,i was already having mild menstrual cramp. I would check to search for show, blood or anything.. Nothing to show  . I started practicing nipple stimulation (DISCLAIMER Please do try this if you're not close to term) which brought about quite a number of contraction and faded away with time. In my mind, I was wondering if this was the whole contraction everyone was talking about. After 2days, contraction stopped ( Ha! Please DON'T GO! (this is the first time I wanted 'pain') Pain please come, I no fear again. I want to see my baby!! I was tired of being pregnant, I was tired of wearing maternity gown! I was bored! I have rearranged baby clothes tire. I haff seriously tire! My EDD was may 27. I woke that morning, and started begging my baby to come na so I burst into tears. I don tire aswear, diarrhea-like poo started almost immediately and was on for about an hour, I was expectant, still nothing. Early morning may 28 Saturday, I felt wetness and a little white fluid trickling, I was happy, I woke dh, immediately he wore his clothes and ask that we head to the hospital, but I sabi my 9ja hospital, I urged him to allow us observe until morning. Na so I speed dial my omniknowest GOOGLE. We was safe! NIPPLE STIMULATION! This trick is Amazeballs!! For obvious reasons, I couldn't kpekus, So we started nipple stimulation which brought about 80% of the continued small contraction, And I TREKKED! O'boy!, the distanced I trekked in this 'journey', I can't trek for a competition unless the reward is mouthwatering. Saturday night, I couldn't help but burst into silent tears. TIRED was an understatement. I cried silently until dh noticed. He was scared stiff and kept petting me, saying baby is coming soon and prayed for LO. We continued nipple stimulation again until I slept. Sunday morning, I saw mucus plug.. I couldn't hide the excitement, a little fluid dripped too, then I knew I had to see a doctor on Monday May 30. Monday, I headed to the hospital, paid in to see the doctor, and explained all and was immediately asked to be admitted to the antenatal ward,Yepa!!  (My heart skipped! sounded more like 'please go to the abbatoir slab) fear fear me. I first go chop moimoi and coke, relax under the tree and wondering - To Go abi Not to Go  I waddled myself into the ward, did all registrations and sat on my bed with the on and off contraction. By 8pm,a young female doctor came in and requested I come for an examination. A speculum was inserted into my vjay not painful, but quit uncomfortable. She said cervix is Closed, Issokay, I was asked to go lie on my bed whilst we watch. That night, I watched 3 mamas contraction drama, I felt a 2nd hand pain with them. I cried for one, she was 43weeks, short, baby was too big for her to push, and she was seriously in labour, in no time, she was moved to the theater. Before I knew it, the mum was in the ward to announce baby's arrival (Cs is a quickie!!) Wow! Another mum wanted VBAC, after plenty counseling to come sign for Cs, mama refused bluntly, she was placed on a trial labour, after plenty noise, contraction, drama, name calling, she was moved into the labour ward, hours after, the good news was shared, Wow!! There on my bed, I don piss for body, To Escape abi not to Escape , May 31st morning(40weeks 4days), a drug cytotec was inserted into me I immediately googled what it was and what it is for...I googled almost EVERYTHING. By 2pm, out of the 4 of us induced, none was contracting. I was worried! 6pm small small contraction,i said this is not what I am talking about. 7pm, I opened my gallery folder and started confessing the supernatural delivery word I screen grabbed in my belief. I told God 'The hour has come, I will not take a 2nd cytotec'. 'Uterus it is your job to contract', ise ti ya. Cervix, start dilating to 10cm! Vagina, you would stretch without tear,.. GOD PLEASE MAKE IT EASY FOR ME. 9pm, I started CONTRACTING, doctor came in, checked me, and said I should stand up, I said uncle, how many cm. He said it's in my file, Please Tell me, I can see blood in your hands, is this normal? Questions just dey jam questions, he said I was 4cm and inserted the 2nd cytotec (this was supposed to have been given since afternoon, but the nurses skipped me, but gave my mates. In less than 10 minutes I started the REAL WORK! I said to my self, babes, you have authorized all the functionals to function, now over to you. Ise ti beere. My mum was with me praying fervently.(see mama wey tell me say person mama no dey follow him pikin enter there  ) Iya ni wura.32 Likes 2 Shares

MY BEAUTIFUL BIRTHSTORY PART2 What I Did Differently as a FTM that shocked the 4 Nurses on duty.. I took a little time to Understand my body, the contraction, contraction level and timing even in pain, I brought out my phone and started timing. 15secs pain, 10sec Relief. Yes this was my first understanding. And I said to myself, you're not going to scream like almost every mama does cos screaming does NOTHING. You know what I did, I grabbed my pillow and hugged it, I assumed it's was JUST A MENSTRUAL PAIN and my soothing relief is coming in the next 10sec. Yes, the pain was all over my eyes, but fem I no talk. Yes after every painful contraction, I would sooth myself with the 10sec relief, and utilize the breathing technique (The Breathing technique would ONLY WORK if you understand your pain/relief timing... You can't BT when in pain! This was my Trick! Mama It Worked for me. I couldn't believe it. The nurses were going around to check the 3 others as they were screaming and bypassed me. I no worry. After a while, contraction level increased and relief level decreased. Yes, more pain, less relief. This time, I found out my pillow wasn't helping again, I got a chair, sat and held on tight.. This I was doing until the devil wanted to try his luck. One of the nurses finally came to me and ask if I was feeling contraction, I answered in affirmative and she requested I was palpated. Immediately she called the other nurse that my babies heartbeat was dropping and I might likely be given an emergency Cs. I was immediately placed on 2 drips and asked to lie on my left side(ALL PREGNANT MAMAS PLEASE DON'T JOKE WITH THIS!! during my preggy days, I understood the lie on your left part thingy but I no no say e carry weight like this.. Yes, I lie on my left when I lie, nothing serious). Mumsy heard emergency Cs, na him mama begin cast and binding. In my few sec of relief, I called dh and explained to him in teary eyes  (This is the most emotional part of the whole procedure) I said God, have you brought me this far to deliver a stillbirth! DH asked if his attention was needed to sign or mumsy should as he doesn't want any harm for both mum and LO. I was open minded too and ready for the best. The nurse asked that we watch the level after the drip. I started praying silently, in silent tears, I cried whilst contracting(This little style was to help emit the pain. Now contraction became INTENSE. I wanted to poo and the urge to push was coming. From the last checking and by my rough calculation, I shouldn't have exceeded 5cm. So if I try to push now, that's danger. Immediately a doctor passed, (coincidentally my soothing few secs, I beckoned on him to come and check me. I followed him into the room and he said this woman is 7pm. I begged him to check my babies heartbeat again, he said it's dropping and asked that I was moved into the labour ward. The nurses where shocked when he came out and said she is 7cm please move her. I could see the surprises on their faces cos all the while, I never made a single noise, but I was silently crying a river (I bottled my pain). INSIDE THE LABOUR WARD They checked the heartbeat again and said same, that after this last drip, and it doesn't regulate, I'd be moved to the theater. I was now very calm. Contraction became intense, Yes but this time, I just want to push and poo. The nurses scream that I shouldn't o, that I am not fully dilated. I said to myself. O'ye cervix, my God has instructed you to do your job, Don't fail me at this last hour. This time all I was calling was Allahu, Inhaling and Exhaling... Not a single Scream! Yes, I mean NOT A SINGLE SCREAM. This time, by my calculation, Cervix must have been fully dilated, when the urge to push came, I didn't hesitate, I no say nothing dey happen this time around. With the few relief minutes in between contraction , I beckoned on one of the nurses to please check me, she was just looking at me like... Is this For real, and she threw the question, ('Madam shey e ti bimo ri) have you had an earlier experience. I said no, just check me. I was already completely dilated. Heartbeat wasn't improving, the chief midwife asked that I was transferred to the 2nd level labour ward where the real work begins. I entered, saw plenty instruments) Yea, THIS IS WHERE THE WORK BEGINS! They inserted all the orisirisi and said madam Push. I pushed with ALL MY SAVED STRENGTH. you could almost hear me from the main gate.The energy was too much in me, cos I wasn't exhausted all along. Yes, I pushed without fear, with less energy, and by the 3rd push, I felt a slippery head to toe pulled out of me. I said Yes Lord, It has finally ended in praise. I screamed Allahu Akbar and bursted into tears. It was uncontrollable. I heard him cry. The chief midwife came and gave me a handshake. I felt like a conqueror. I was cleaned up and moved into the postnatal ward. In conclusion, I HAD A PAINLESS DELIVERY with my zero threshold for pain,because I was able to manage my contraction. It wasn't easy, but it was Indeed worth it. I can't stop staring at my baby and the tears sef no gree stop (Ori mi wu o e lagi mo!! =-d The nurses at the ANC ward saw me the following morning and said 'Madam this your style go make person born 1dozen in 1year o. To all the waddling mamas, near due date mamas, Go and deliver like the Hebrew women (Use this technique.. Confession without WORK does nothing).
