The Federal government has scrapped the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in a bid to cut down spending. This was reached after today’s Federal Executive Council Meeting. It will be recalled that the Federal Government had scrapped Post UTME to enable JAMB carry out its
statutory responsibility of conducting admissions into the nation’s Universities, Polytechnics and colleges of Education.

Meanwhile, all youth corps members currently serving now will be allowed to round off their service year with full financial benefits .

19,800 that's what these youths are managing to survive monthly both in this high transport period and fuel with the distance to their places of primary assignments.
Last administration tried so much to alleviate the issue from 9,900 to 19,800 despite the economic situation because youths are always and are supposed to be the country's priority.

Now, these people are deliberating on scraping it which I seriously doubt but if true, that will be very unacceptable.
