Bless our hustle and you don sell before?
My brother, God will continue to bless us. I have hawked when things were rough for me. Edible stuffs like water, gala, lacasera etc doesn't take 6 hours to sell 20 pieces of it. Unless maybe other factors like heavy rainfall or otherwise. Only hawking in parks or as the op said on highways makes competition less.

I think this post is a lie

Nairaland nawaooo... missed the good old days.

What is this nonsense doing on the front-page? This nonsense has been in circulation for as long as 7 years.

OP said he interviewed some perceived pure water sellers in his dreams, and could not even think it wise to quote the original author of the nonsense writeup.

lies people tell . makes the devil fear. OP your write up is either false. because 1bag is 120 naira. if you buy directly from the manufacturer you get 5bags at 500 naira.. hence 20 sachets will go for 200 naira. amounting to a gain on 100 naira or 80 naira at most. most times the water is refrigerated so the sellers dont even need to get iceblocks. and in less than 30mins its all gone. in a day u make over 2k plus from sales. so what are you saying?. pls am not a pure water seller o. tongue poster below me is a phooooooooolish purre water hawker tongue

A bag is sold btwn #80 and #100, but store owners sell it for hawkers at #120-#130 per bag 'cuz it is cold. Hawkers are free to exchange there satchet water if it gets hot before selling it and also the ones remaining will be returned to the store.
Hawkers can start this business with no capital, just a known guarantor and the satchet water will be given out on credit. It's brisk business where I am and people have taken it up on a large scale.

Your analysis is incorrect, they sell more than 20 bags in the 4hrs.

You have to take into consideration the following:

1. Weather: During hot weather they sell more bags and sachets.

2. Traffic: During serious traffic they sell more sachets and bags because people tend to drink water when there's heat from hold up.

3. Events: water is sold more during special events like recruitment of police , airforce, army, the applicants are subjected to strenuous exercises the need lots of water to quench thirst.

4. During sports activity in the stadium and sports rally people drink more water.

Bottom line the business off pure water is lucrative, those brave men and women and kids donts spend 6hrs to raise N200 I strongly disagree with that your analysis, its a lucrative biz and theres dignity in it.

Its better than stealing , kidnapping and prostitution. angry

pure water gives a minimum of 100% profit n a bag could b sold in an hour or less in a busy junction on a hot day
