divineappo:Nigeria is already a failed state. The North did not know that Boko haram they set up will have damning ramifications. Now we in the South-South & our allies the South-East dont feel Nigeria. Na why the South-West dey panic, nothing else. MrGerald:This arrogant attitude is the exact reason why the enlightened peoples of the Niger Delta simply cannot be one with the people of Biafra. Stay there and be chest beating na. By the time you have to deal with land-grabbing Cameroun on the east, and economic blockade from the North and West, we will see whether you won't come running to the south. you have no viable agricultural land, and very few natural resources, and by the time you have to pay Nigeria (what will be left of it) and The Niger Delta Republic to import your spare parts. yougonlern. |

I can't believe I'm listening to young men and women who should know better! You should be ashamed o yourselves. And I had been thinking our fathers were blind and ignorant. Everything I've read here only points to our hopelessness as a generation. We're facing a dire situation caused in the first place by tribalism, nepotism and bias. And the best the so-called "future leaders" can think of is more tribalism, nepotoism and bias! Turning bind eyes to the crux of of matter. No one want to call a spade a spade. Shame on everyone who's involved in spreading hate and tribalism. I don't care what tribe. Since you don't want peace, may trouble never leave your households. Y'all want a war right? Don't worry. Better go and ask those who hav actually experienced warfare. |

hustla:That was what they did in 1966. They left Yorubaland and north for you, and went back to East to form their own country. Yet it didn't stop your forerunners from uniting and invading the New republic, forcing down your one Nigeria down our throats. We have tried that option of leaving the Rest of Nigeria for Yorubas and North and still it never worked. This time, we try something different. |

frisby:No one wants war. It's only those who are forcing unity that are screaming War! We can all sit down as rational beings and do the needful. Malaysia and Singapore did same in 1965, Czech and slovakia did same in 1992. When someone say that he doesnt want to share a room with you, it doesn't mean he hates you or wants to fight you, it means that he wants his private place where he can be himself without clashing with you, he is actually trying to prevent war. Spaces/ fences make for good neighbors. ![]() |

lastpage:And yet, these are Yorubas carrying placards in 1968 calling ND oil " our oil". Who hasn't the Yorubas accused of wanting to steal Niger Delta oil? They accused Ojukwu The accused Ndiigbo They accused De Gaulle They accused France They accused Asari They accused MEND They are currently accusing NDA Yet they are the ones with placards claiming Niger Delta oil.

Nigeria doesn’t need cash; it needs good governance, which is likelier to occur if the Igbo rule themselves in the southeast, the Yoruba in the southwest and the Hausa and Fulani in the north. The West blew it a half-century ago when the Igbos attempted to achieve self-determination by establishing the Republic of Biafra. We may soon see a reprise of that civil war. How the West responds will determine whether the nation states within Nigeria achieve self-determination, or whether Nigeria, like Libya and Somalia, becomes another failed state. |

pyxon:Those are all fixable issues. But how do you turn clay into arable land? Plus i didnt mention lack of agricultural capacity in isolation, you have to also consider that while the other nations mentioned either have the capacity to produce their own food or import it, Biafra is land-locked. An economic blockade would spell absolute disaster for Biafra. Not that i wish that for anyone, talkless of a people engaged in a legitimate struggle for self determination. |

hmm... just stumbled across this prophetic thread...the country is already failed. it is hunted by extreme corruption, terrorism, sectarian conflicts and diminishing infrastructure. nigeria is so bad at the moment that it constitutes a time bomb to global stability. diminishing infrastructure and internal conflicts coupled with exploding population is a migration crisis waiting to happen. Trump has phobia for that and his anti one nigeria stance will soon begin to manifest more clearly. |
