Very simple, the six republics or whatever you call them will simply divide further into scores of other countries.

As an ND girl I can authoritatively tell you that we are NOT united. Is it the Ishekiris and the Ijaws that will live peacefully togetherhuh Let's look at my state, there's a serious supremacy battle between the Ibibios, annangs and the Oron people. The Efiks being the most powerful people in Cross River does not go down well with the other over 20 ethnic groups there. So how will an Akwa/Cross country look like? undecided

As for middlebelt, do we need to remind ourselves of the numerous community fights going on there?
What about the Christians and other minority tribes in the core North? How will they cope with the overbearing majority of the Hausa/Fulani Muslim community?

The SW may thrive for a little while because of their system of checks and balances and the fact that they have leaders that they collectively recognize and respect. However, Yoruba communities also fight a lot, it will just be a matter of time before they start back stabbing themselves.
You are very "on point" kiss To even break up will never come easy. There will still be further division in the divided republics grin

The UN is not in the habit of paying attention to the demands of obscure , inconsequential groups I'm afraid

Dont worry, the delta igbos will pack and join you people in biafra. ...Niger delta will be a republic. ....
The Niger-Delta can be a republic if they want. Wether the more than 30 tribes in this so called Niger Delta will actually agree to come together to form a country is another issue, but that's their business. As long as all Igbos get out of Nigeria is what is important to me.

if all the Igbo community in river, delta and lower Benue including igbanke go along with their Igbo brothers up east then I suggest it should be called aligbo not Biafra,or igboland or Igbo republic. good luck u guys. anyway is always a way.

Despite having over 100 tribes in the Niger delta region we are still very United.. ..The question you should ask yourself, are all igbos ready to go to biafra.. .i have many Igbo friends who are not in support of biafra

You are still very much United? How? Is their even any umbrella organisation that covers all the tribes in this so called Niger-Delta? What connection has an Urohbo man and an Efik man? At least we all know that the purpose of Biafra is the freedom of Igbos, what is the purpose of Niger-Delta? You may have Igbo friends that don't support Biafra but they are most likely to be Igbos who were born or raised outside Igboland. Biafra is not about some Igbo guy in Kano, Biafra does not cover Kano. Biafra is about the indigenous Igbo who live in Igboland and the minorities who are comfortable being with Igbos. An Igbo who lives in Lagos, Kaduna or Sokoto can stay there all his life if he wants, that's his business. We are talking about Igbos in the east
Re: Shocking! United Nations Asked To Divide Nigeria Into Six Republics by londoner: 8:12am On Jun 09, 2016
Splitting to 6 geopolitical zones or six republics? The two propositions are not the same. The first is to have more regional autonomy with Nigeria as a country which I think is a good thing and true federalism. The other means splitting up into different separate countries, which I don't agree with. One thing is for sure Nigeria can not continue the way it is with regions or states not having much power and the centre having it all.

So which one of the two was actually requested at the UN? Geopolitical zones or republics?

You think because of the different languages they are not United? Come to the ND and see for yourself. ... Since you have been hearing ND republic have you seen any Efik, bini or itsekiri oppose it? No.. .... What about the fulanis, the Hausa in the east, will they be allowed to remain when biafra is achieved?

In the spirit of this post, not the facts, let me play along and ask why the UN has not first considered a Republic of Hong Kong ?

Others may divide further, but the Yoruba nation will not divide further. There are more things that unite us than divide us. I don't see igbos dividing further; they speak same language. But I can't vouche for nigerdeltans. They speak innumerable languages.

Yoruba women are known for prostitution. Yoruba land is the only place where president of prostitutes association is a celebrated position with annual marches of commemoration. The most common word for a prostitute in the zoo (ashewo) is of yoruba origin now what does that tell you about yoruba women
