An itchy scalp does not only causes discomfort,
but it can also be embarrassing and lead to
hair loss. It is caused by dandruff, dry scalp,
unhygienic hair conditions, improper diet,
stress, sebaceous cysts, head lice, fungal and
vital infections like eczema, psoriasis, etc.
Some symptoms include skin infection,
itching, swelling, redness, and damaged hair.



Tips to Reduce itchy scalp

-Dry your hair thoroughly everyday
because damp hair causes product
buildup which leads to dryness and
itching.
-Brush or comb gently 2 – 3 times a
day which helps to distribute the
natural oils.
-Do not use products containing
alcohol.
-Make sure you do not have head lice.
Try to reduce your stress levels by
doing exercises like yoga, meditation,
deep breathing, walking, swimming,
etc.
-Drink water as often as possible to
hydrated yourself and your scalp.
-Consume food that is rich in fatty
acids, vitamin A, b and C and zinc.
Use hot oil massages to increase the
blood flow and reduces dryness.
-Take supplements of vitamin E to
hydrate your skin and keep you
hydrated.
-Do not scratch your scalp as this can
make the problem worse.
Try new shampoos, oils and
conditioners, etc for 2 weeks to
remove any build up which resulted
from the constant use of older ones.
Avoid applying chemicals to your
hair.
Regularly wash your bed sheets and
pillows to avoid the problem of mites.

If your itchy scalp is not cured within a
week or two, then consult dermatologist
