My dell inspiron laptop make a continuous "peeeeeeeeee" noise when ever it start booting to windows. The noise continue after it has booted to the windows. It stop at some interval and start again. I try running system diagnostic and could not find any fault. But throughout the period of running the diagnostic , it did not make the sound even for once. I start windows in safe mood, also no noise. But it make the noise when windows is starting normal. What could be the problem and posible solution? Pls I need some help. The noise is irretating. Thanks.

I think it should be the keyboard as faulty.

Try restart several times.

Sometimes DELL laptop develop temporary fault ; I suggest he continue using that laptop the problem shall automatically take care of itself ; I have experience on such issues on My laptop ; I use DELL LATITUDE D630.

You mean it could be temporary fault, it will automatically stop.....if so continue using it like that like what @emeka said

I just change the keyboard. Because the system was not even booting to windows initially as it make the same noise. It stop at the dell inspiron splash screen untill a key is struck. But that stopped after the keyboard was changed. But the noise continued.

Disconnect the internal keyboard plug an external keyboard. If problem persists check d ram slot, most likely you have two installed start-up with one RAM at a time

Ok. I try removing the ram before. I'm 90% sure is not ram problem. I just changed the keyboard because the former was hanging the system at start up with the noise. I change the keyboard the hanging stopped, but the noise continued. What I have not done to dust the processor. I notice that as noise go on, if raise the system from the table it will stop. Only to start again as I keep it back on the table.

Check d heat sink and the cooling fan

The noise is a usual thing with DELL laptop ;especially when browsing ;the cause is the cooling fan; also the laptop tend to get hot.
