Same here. Fantastic folks, fantastic personalities, fantastic profiles...valuable anyday, anytime,
Having come this far, I have no doubt some other big(ger) players somewhere (home/abroad) would gladly fetch folks of this quality - world class.
Keep the fire burning.
"Out, but not down"
Medicals or Waiting...congrats to everyone who made it.!

An interesting wait here too....

I can only imagine how devastated a lot of people must have felt, especially those with regrets. Also amazing is the spirit some have demonstrated in receiving the news. I pray we don't miss our path of destinies in Jesus' Name....

To think of it that some parameters like geographical region, course of study , gender representation etc could have edged out some really brilliant folks. Whoever came this far should be rest assured that he/she can make it big anywhere and compete at any level and that God has a great destiny in plan for him or her...

We wait anyway...and as the Lord promised aforehad, it shall turn to me (and anyone who believes) for a testimony....

I wish I could advise those successful ones and soon-to-be successful candidates to try and change things when they do get inside but that would be as useless and unproductive as the ‘g’ in “sign-off”. Think of it, it’s been about nine years since the <2007 Which Way NLNG> successfuls set got their medical invites so it’s likely even those set of brilliant individuals that got in were virtually helpless with regards to changing the apathetic way things are done over there.
Fact is that things won’t change in that company where the only thing all its employees (minus mgt secondees from its four shareholders) have to boast about is MONEY. You get no substantial promotions, all you get is money and trainings that will give you such experience in your field only for you to be seconded to maybe Bahrain or Malaysia, where you’ll make more money and then come back to your old position to see Shell boiz and Agip boys grow to mind-boggling heights in the company. Your decisions don’t shape anything in the grand machine that is NLNG; just another cog in the wheel only this time the wheel is quite shiny and you can comfortably afford custom cuff-links for guys and ’17 Loubotins for the ladies after say 2 years.
Now why are there performance indices like the M.D index done when it leads to nothing but impromptu firings of ‘normal’ staff? This recruitment just highlights the Hannibal-like indifference those Shell f*cktards bring to management in that company. They care for absolutely no one but themselves, their bottomline and margins. Look how this whole recruitment process was carried out in the most unprofessional manner anyone can think of. Three FREAKING years to complete a recruitment drive that leaves even the successful ones with a bittersweet climax and the “wait-listed” who are in a real sense just waiting for the other shoe to drop because with that caveat – ‘validity period of your interview result, it’s just another way of saying “the hammer is going to fall very soon” but maybe not this quarter. So what’s the validity period of an interview result? Well, I can assure you it isn’t like a Diversity Visa that’s valid for six months or a TOEFL cert that’s valid for two years. Might get a little complicated but let’s leave that story for another day.
Believe me, this isn’t a rant from a pained candidate that got a regret mail, it’s just a heads-up from a concerned citizen who’s fed up with the way things remain stagnant or decline when Negroes are in charge.

Well, what can I say? Its rily sad that this recruitment took 3yrs and yet, some pple were still bounced. Its easy to say,God will do this,God will do that..Yes, I believe my God is exceedingly and abundantly able. But,as a human being, its rily painful esp after receiving d January email giving us high hopes..

For those who were sucessful, thumbs up..For those who were unsuccessful,I say it is well...and finally, those who are "waitlisted", what ever that means, il say this: judging from the way NLNG has conducted this painstaking recruitment exercise, u might end up waiting for anoda yr even not 2 or 3yrs..so,il advice u ignore d email and move on quickly. If dey get in touch, all well and good..if not, tuale to them. But sending an open ended email lyk "waitlisted" till ur interview validity" is overly vague..hw does one know d validity period? It myt b 2wks from now for all one knws.

Anyways,am glad this thread can FINALLY see peace and quiet..it was fun while it lasted though sumwat annoying ..Bye peeps (unto sumthing much better)

Righteous greetings to one and all who started this Nlng race. I have been wallowing in sheer disappointment over the regret mail I got yesterday. Sincerely, I least expected that. The statement 'you are damn good' made made by two assessors on my AC day made me so confident. Besides, I was 100% sure of my performanceS in all the exercises. So it beats my imagination what yardstick they used for their selection that would exclude me. Infact, I almost foolishly blamed God. But I realized my stupidity. Far be it for the true God, Jehovah to act wickedly and unjustly. He can never cause evil to be done to anyone, not even me. I know I gave my very best in this process. But it is evidently not his will for me at this point in me. I publicly glorify his name. God is forever faithful and loving and as long as I live, I will always believe in his undeserved kindness. Special congrats to the 70 and those waitlisted. More congratulations to myself and those who got the regret mails. Nlng is ok, but there are far better places. Let's keep exploring and JAH will help us to succeed. Special shout out to my guys who kept consoling me: Cashme, Boshenman, Nastyme, Dfavouredone and Taof4u. Meet you all at the top as I so much believe in Jah's undeserved kindness. #out of this thread

I normally dont comment much. But shoutout to you guys mehn, successful, waitlisted and those that got the regret mail. Its been a 3yr hustle and for those that didn't make it, keep looking up thats where you are supposed to be. There are different ways to the top dont despair and fall back now.
For those that were waitlisted (myself inclusive), put NLNG at the back of your minds and keep up your hustle like you got the regret mail. If/when the apple drops then wonderful.
For my ogas at the top...big congrats mehn.

Cheers

Chai cheesy, NLNG, there is God oh! (In mama peace voice). After 3 years shocked . Congrats to those that made it. I don't have to spell it out, you'd love it there. [s]The only drawback is the boredom that comes with living on the RA full-time (if only there was a bridge connected to ph) and the fact that everybody knows everybody cheesy (my personal opinion tongue)[/s]. But who cares about boredom when money has to be made grin. The euphoria that comes with getting in will disappear in a couple of months, make the most of the opportunity to learn especially for the engineers. I hope they choose a better tech for the planned new trains instead of the C3-MR (water/Air cooled) replications on site. Either way, you'd learn a lot. You are amongst the priviledge few in this trying times.

In case you are wondering, them no call me o cry. I also wish those that didn't make it the best. Just like some said earlier, anything and everything is possible with God.

For the lady that asked between Shell and NLNG,.....with shell's recent acquisition of BG, the uncertainty with crude price, the urge in the industry to shift to renewables due to global CO2 concerns, etc even shell is not safe at the moment although they are now a stronger force to reckon with in the gas biz. They too are internationally shedding fat in the gym to be ready for summer cheesy. Every company has to make decisions best for its survival so I don't hold it against NLNG for dropping moi...Left to me, I would go with NLNG. I think job security is better guaranteed. I don't know what current challenges are(forkadict et al can shed more light). No info on pay but it should be more than deserving cheesy. (it's a graduate position cheesy). Cheers and congrats.

Guys, I feel the pains. I don't just know what to say. In everything, let's give God the praise. Let's not allow these mails divide us. Let's stand together for a better Nigeria, a better Nigeria LNG and a better 'us'. For the rejected, it's not over in life, the next chapter of life awaits you. For the wait listed, move on! go on into the next chapter of life. For the 'successfuls', I don't just know what to tell you. Advise yourselves. #RIPM.Ali

First of all and yet again, big congratulations to those that made it and also those that were wait listed. And for those that got the other mail, well what can I say? I have shared my story on here a few times. If anything, it should encourage yall. I empathise and sympathise with you all but my heart bleeds for my one and only de facto CIA SPECIAL AGENT @freeradical who consistently and effortlessly cracked my high level codes. I wish you all the very best in life.

To your question on current challenges, well only 2 of them for me personally sha. The first is the current wave of cost optimisation that holds the company by its jugular. Staff get stripped of priviledges like sheet all in the name of 'survival'. You find yourself struggling for Things that used to be 'a given'.

Second challenge is the boredom. Same taste of food, same faces, same environment, everything same same same ARRRGHHHHHHH!

But put both together, multiply by 10000, I would still pick NLNG over and above role my former miserable company.

And for those who don't have facts but go about propagating trash. Na wa for una.

Whoever told you guys that Shell's pay is higher than NLNG'S?

I rarely comments , but waited for this moment to encourage fellow compatriots . Believe me to reach this stage show you are all great but the best planner and the Master of all , Allah has perfect plan for all His creations and unfold them at right time. I was part of process in 2007 not made it to AC then but now joined NLNG as experience hire this year . Looking back I give thanks to Allah that I didn't joined then because those years gave me opportunities to have sound working experiences outside O&G industry . Just keep trust in your Lord and show gratitude to Him. You will have course to rejoice and give thanks to Him. Congratulations to you all, you're are all successful .
