I think the mistake you made which ive been making is goin for interviews without being adequately prepared forgetting that most of dis company wont let you apply again until after 2years.
So take your time to adequately prepare for you test especially online test.

Concerning the female engr part, I doubt that. The truth is jobs are hard to come by in Nigeria and it got a lot worse since this govt came in. Those of us working in the engr sector, are lucky to still have jobs. Though majority of us who are due for promotions have lost it due to the state of things. The biggest hurdle is usually getting in, you have to find a way to get experience that matters. Keep trusting in God, time is all that separates you from your dreams. I trust the economy would rebound soon.

It so tuff out dere am all in dis same situation job hunting but lately have being thinking self employment is d way to go,, and MSc is a good option but d fund ain't available for me,,, so bro don't give up but if u can try other option going professional or master if u can!!!!!

Since you are good at what u do just start small on your own, start with family friends and neighbors...... Once u repair their systems perfectly they will start referring u...... Just to keep you busy as u search for a job and further your education..... Make sure u go back to mx...... GK misses u

That's one of the main problems in our society. Displaying certificates & degrees ain't enough anymore and most graduates still dunno it.

It's only small firms that are available & can guarantee gaining experience but most fellows go only for the BIG companies since that's where the money is at.

I always tell people "despise not the days of small beginnings". Start small, even with low pay but get that precious experience then entry into that BIG firm won't be so big a deal.

The gift of a man makes way for him - not his certificate. Many people like myself didn't realize this early enough but it's not too late. Look within you and find what you have passion for. Learn skills in those areas and even in areas you don't have much passion for. No knowledge is a waste.

I can appraise ur cv for u, tho I'm also a job seeker but I get invites every week, only God knows may be my village people are at work during the interview.

op should think of starting a small biz, all those companies were started by people like u and me not ghosts.. Self-employment and enterpreneurship is difficult but its the best where u decide how u wanna live your life..

Nigerian firms as gone beyond using certificate as a means of employment. They want people with skills to run their firms and not certificate dependent minds. A friend of mine with a third class certificate in electrical engineering was moving from one firm to another just because he is very good in c,python and php. Firms were not interested in his certificate but is skills and ideas.
Currently he is an online entrepreneur with an autocaptcha service and a proxy provider targeting SEO professionals and Full time IntErnet marketers mostly from tear one countries. He earns millions of naira per month now.
ICT is the future and to acquire skills subscribe to Lynda.com or tutsplus for real skill acquisition in ICT. You will be better off than a Nigerian PhD holder because you will be learning from experience tutors and not the types we have in our universities that's knows nothing but theories.
A 5.0 CGPA certificate holder without any form of skill does not deserve a job. No skill no job welcome to the new era..

Coys can be so biased these days...truth is everyone who gets appropriate training upon employment can get the work done...they know this so they rather employ pple with plenty qualification for reasons best known to them.

Dont waste your time writing stories that touch...add more trophies to your CV as soon as possible (who BSC epp??) or go for fasting and prayer.

Was sitting in a bar with this dull guy then my friend told be he works in Nestle and am like "really?? this dull guy??" Then my friend replied "he has MBA in the UK and an ACCA CERT" i was like "oh!" Mind you I applied at Nestle a zillion times, not one single call but this dull guy......

Dear OP, I'm right about the same age as you and funny enough I also read engineering. Our stories may be similar, but one of the difference is that unlike you, I picked up my first "full-time" job some 2 years ago.

I was so ahead of myself that I started applying for jobs right from school.

I finished my final B.Tech exams May 2014 and I have right from then started my Hustle towards professional bliss. As I fact, my first professional engagement didn't let me finish my final year project.

What am I trying to say? As a graduate you need to have what is "working for you". In your case, its not your age. Or grade. I'm sorry . The average graduating age of our private universities is what? Thousands of first class gradates are out there, still looking.

You need an edge! In your case I'll advice you go for your CCNA, not with some mushroom training centre. If you want to pursue a certification, do it the professional way!

Add some job experience too. Send out request to volunteer to the country's top firm. Pay them a visit with you hard cover CV if you have to.

Take up some of these writing jobs online, they look good on your CV. Google top Technology blogs (who says they save to be Nigerian) and request to write for them for free.

Looking for a Job is like smiling for the camera. You want to do everything that makes your CV come out good. Better than the other candidate.

Thanks for this wonderful advice, Business is a thing that I am definitely going to do, I already have one or two ideas in mind. I jus need to conclude my feasibility studies and solicit for some funds!! I am not at all a lazy dude..
I already applied for one or two teaching jobs just to keep body and soul together whilst earning some change!!!!

I studied microbiology but if I list out my achievement ad work experience before nysc , if I talk about the volunteer awards I collect across Nigeria and Africa, if I mention say I fit design website, network, host am, programme and manage database, if I yarn say I fit speak two languages aside English, if i tell u say I be tailor too, and dey do small carpentry works. una go think say I dey brag. If I yarn say plenty Nigerian graduates can do way more than that, una go think say I dey raise fear. Bro no be by arranging cv and cover letter , the competition is tuff, if a 24yr MSc student show u him cv portfolio u go shock. So make I shut up . Go build skills, network and get achievements while u search.

The masters thing doesnt stop me from pursuing other opportunities or improving upon my skills... i jus tot with a good masters degree, I stand a solid chance of pursing a career in the academia.. which if we come to think of it is not actually bad!

That may be your undoing especially @oral interviews and maybe it reflects on ur CV, cover letter & mails.

And it may also be the reason you don't proofread your compositions.

I believe you good, but being ready / suitable is a different thing all together...
