There is this trite saying among the yorubas, "if the gods cannot improve your conditions, instead of making it worse they should at least allow you maintain the status quo". Fashola pls bring the power back to 5,000 megawatts then resign honourably as you've made it obvious you have no idea on how to improve on what you met. You guys implored us not to accept excuses from the last administration so why do you think we should treat u differently. If u considered vandalism a lame excuse when u were an opposition we also consider it lame now that u in power.
Truth.

These guys should be made to have the word 'hypocrite' tattooed on their foreheads as a precondition to remaining in government.

So many contradictions and outright lies have been spouted by this administration.

Oga minister of darkness this one na 'akuko uwa' - you guys didn't know that Nigerians used to destroy power infrastructure when GEJ was president abi? When y'all were shouting that u only need 6 months to fix power in Nigeria. As God would have it, you the chief noisemaker in that regard, have been saddled with the chief shame for your government's colossal failure in the power sector. No more excuses abeg, give us the results you promised. angry

Well, considering that most Nigerians are not mentally ok, Mr. Fashola, I feel your pain.

Good morning my fellow Nigerians, after reading most of your comments , I agree with some of the vital points made but my problem are : people are always fast to blame the government for everything , and also forget we all have roles to play as citizens ,we shy away from our responsible in contributing to the development of the country, the government can't do it alone , they need us and we need them for things to work. Look at developed countries they are the pace setter.
1. The people are the government
2. All we do is come on social media to bad mouth the government and forget to do our part as citizens.(social responsibility)
3.i plead do not use abusive words on my comment regardless of your opinion, thank you.

Bro be reasonably enough before commenting, when a sinner is suffering from his/her sin even the saint do suffer from it. in your house if one among you spoilt the TV set wouldn't it deprive others too from watching dis same TV?? most of the problem we faced in this country ain't all caused by govt but from us ordinary citizen. our sense of reasoning is very poor and demonic. when we reached 5k mw, we were all happy, still its a sad news to some... they started attacking oil n gas installations knowing to them that 80% of what generate light for us is gas. claiming they are avenging for their regions. many of us condemn their act while some were happy. now this same ppl that r happy will still come here to complain about poor electricity. if govt fight decided to fight them many innocent soul will be lost, if they traced and arrest we'll shout witch hunting, govt call for dialogue several times they said they ain't dialogue. instead they continue destroying their lands pursuing investors in their land, making masses to suffer poor electricity....those who are doing all this is for their own selfish reasons. they've once done it b4 how does their ppl benefit from it then??
U tried... But that example of Tv spoiling by one among you won't work.
The only thing that spoils TV here in Nigeria is full /low currents..
Unfortunately we can't boost of either not to talk of TV spoiling.

Until Nigeria starts enforcing it's laws--- down to even the littlest crime--- she is wasting her time; nothing will change!

Assault- Mandatory Minimum 10 years in prison.

Offering/Accepting Bribe by civilian- Mandatory minimum 10 years in prison.

Offering/Accepting bribe by Politician/Government Official--Mandatory minimum 20 years in prison.

Vandalizing Govt property--- Mandatory minimum 15 years in prison.

Stealing from Govt coffers--Mandatory Minimum 35 yrs in prison

Until Nigeria comes up with stiff penalties like the ones above, the country will continue being a jungle where anything goes.

All this is meaningless now. You should have said all this during the time of gej ,most likely this nation will not be in the precarious situation she is in now.

Let them destroy, we would all suffer it together, ain't we all already! People suppose to even help the government in protection of the properties regardless how little are even encouraging saboteurs, as if they ain't gonna be the beneficiaries, Nigeria from time had always being divided along ethnic and religious line mainly thereby shortchanging us of the deserved growth. NDA, power saboteurs, boko haram.. Etc, if we all think government is being brought down, far be it but rather, collectively we are bringing the nation&her people down while the well to do keep affording everything affordable at the expense of the masses. Worst of it all would be PMB losing presidency while the deed of destroying the nation by her people would have already been done, infact, errors of the many past years still hunt us till tomorrow. No government in the world does it alone growing the economy and the nation without the help of the citizenry.

The Minister of Power, Work and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, on Tuesday, expressed shock at the destruction of public properties by Nigerians who also yearn for better service from government.

Fashola expressed his frustration while speaking on Thursday at the Buharimeter town hall meter in Abuja.

The Minister also said the Ajaokuta steel plant is embroiled in legal suits hence government can do little at the moment.

“Yes, there is no power. But it does not mean there is no capacity to produce power. In February, we were able to meet 5,000 megawatts.”

“When you have an idea how extensive the pipeline network is and how they must pass through land.”

“I don’t know any country that wants to have electricity that destroys its electricity infrastructure.”

“People have even begun to remove bolts and nuts from tracks that had been laid for rail.”

“There will be a time when we can not rely on gas solely. We think that methods, planning and coordination will take us to the society we want to live in.”

“As far as security is concerned, there is a new wave of global criminality going on. The existing security machinery put in place after the second world war takes care of conventional warfare. It’s a new global learning curve for everybody.”

Fashola is just stupid.
Any serious minded government should provide stable power supply in six months - Fashola.
Why is he surprised and complaining? Did the previous administration not have same challenges?
A lazy artisan quarrel with his tools.

This govt is really taking its citizens 4 a joke. They say anything they like and expect us to absorb it.

Wat a country. embarassed
You don't seem to grasp what he is saying. For Nigeria to get of it's doldrum, it needs everyone's collective effort.

Mr Fashola shut your trap. Why not accept to Nigerians that you have no solutions to this unstable power supply, rather than given flimsy excuses . You are put in that sector to fail.

.

Fashola going philosophical!.

But, what he said above is true. And it's because as the US reahed it's climax of world control and now lossing it, except the military apparatus and war equipments they built over the years aren't rotten with their fall. The world will continue to be hostile until the US complete its fall and pose no military threat to other nations. This's something deep I can't possibly explain here.

Surprisingly, he don't know this same phenomenon is exactly the position of education in Africa. Though white people have left Africa, but the institution called education is still functioning on the model laid down by the colonialists 100 years ago.

Example, we still study in English language, the language the colonialists told us to speak!. We still put emphasis on arts, dance, singing, and other peripheral studies just as the colonialists wanted us- the colonialists didn't believe an African can understand science.

Therefore, while our system of education is good in producing good lawyers; like Fashola, good economists, good athletes, good bankers, good beauty peagents, good authors, but it doesn't produce critical problem solvers approaching problem solving scientifically.. Though Fashola know there's a problem, yet he doesn't know what else to do to generate electricity, except wait for pipe line vandalism to stop.

What if we forget about oil entirely and split hydrogen from water to generate electricity?. This will certainly generate electricity!.

Western education disables an African mind to want to explore scientifically. And just like the pre-second world war world security order he talked about, the system of education we inherited from white people was set up for the benefit of the colonialists of that era. It's no longer working, because it was not set up in the first for the interest of Africans. This's ultimately why we look up to white people for solution. This is why we cannot develop. And its ultimately why we're poor.

If we want to develop, we must re-invent education in Africa just like Asians have done.

I've searched this whole continent and there's no single institution set up to give grants to Africans with ideas to change Africa. Not a singlr one!. And we're talking development?

African leaders don't understand what constitute development!. With $1 million as grant to me, I'll cause more development in Africa than any president, than any human being living or dead.
