This is one thing i don't like about this man. For your information, this problem had been in existence before you assumed office. Are u so blinded by the gain of the office that you don't realise that to whom much is given much is expected.

Please Mr Minister, I have never believe in your capability but i want you to prove me wrong.

Please get to work and stop ranting!!!!

Everybody knows the problem, and if you don't have the mental capacity to fix it please resign and stop insulting us.

God bless the good people of Nigeria.

Let them keep bombing the electricity gas pipelines, we will all suffer the darkness together.
Some vagabonds here are pretending not to see the upswell in gas pipelines bombing and the darkness they are experiencing in their lives grin grin

There is this trite saying among the yorubas, "if the gods cannot improve your conditions, instead of making it worse they should at least allow you maintain the status quo". Fashola pls bring the power back to 5,000 megawatts then resign honourably as you've made it obvious you have no idea on how to improve on what you met. You guys implored us not to accept excuses from the last administration so why do you think we should treat u differently. If u considered vandalism a lame excuse when u were an opposition we also consider it lame now that u in power.
Very sensible comment! Well thought and superbly written, unlike the other fools mentioning IPOB here and there without any iota of meaning to their comments..
The Minister of Power, Work and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, on Tuesday, expressed shock at the destruction of public properties by Nigerians who also yearn for better service from government.

Fashola expressed his frustration while speaking on Thursday at the Buharimeter town hall meter in Abuja.

The Minister also said the Ajaokuta steel plant is embroiled in legal suits hence government can do little at the moment.

“Yes, there is no power. But it does not mean there is no capacity to produce power. In February, we were able to meet 5,000 megawatts.”

“When you have an idea how extensive the pipeline network is and how they must pass through land.”

“I don’t know any country that wants to have electricity that destroys its electricity infrastructure.”
THAT IS WHAT THEY CALLED IN YORUBA LAND lo pe bi ti ri wa.

That's what you get when you compensate people for being loyal to a political party than appointing technocrats.

Fashola has failed as power minister and should be removed with immediate effect.

What a display of Ebolanized logic.. Always making excuses for govt but quick to blame ordinary citizens.. So every Naija destroys PHCN property? Since you are among the saints, how come you don't have power? So vandalism started with this govt??
BTW, how's IPOB connected to this story??
its our son mentality. Fashila should stop giving excuses and start working. Israel generates all the power they need through coal and coal full Enugu he should visit that state.

Nonsense. Pls tell that to ur fellow SANs or other ignoramuses like u, not to me. Do you realise that our total transmitting capacity is 6000 MW? That means, even if we are generating 10000MW of electricity today, we will still be in darkness. What of distribution? How many transformers are working? Look at all our distribution cables, all join-join and many are even half cables.
If I may ask, what have your office done to upgrade or fix any of our generation, transmission or distribution networks? How much have u spent in the power sector? Answer is 0! And you are looking for light to drop from hell abi?
Anyway, na una way to blame rather than work. I guess its easier to blame while doing nothing than to even make effort. Nonsense...abegi!

. Which public property are you talking about, is it the pipeline in their backyard that belong to multinationals? Wait until they bomb Aso rock, NNPC towers and others before you complain of destruction of public properties. No amount of Lamentation and wailing will stop you from reaping what you collectively sowed against GEJ, just the beginning, goodluck

Going by Fashola's logic, there should have been serious food scarcity under GEJ going by the fact that the North is predominantly agrarian & BH was on rampage. However, 'local' food prices were stable. So Fashola can't use that excuse. More so, it is government's responsibility to check the activities of vandals and economic saboteurs. What APC needs is better man-management skills and a more inclusive view to politics. You can't keep alienating the people you depend on for so much & not expect repercussions.
