With the rising rate of youth unemployment, government has promised to deal with this problem by empowering young people through acquisition of skills at vocational training centers established in various communities of the state.



For residents of Ikorodu, these promises by the government may be far-fetched as the vocational training center located within their community does not hold any promise as a result of the dilapidated state of the center.



The National Youth Council of Nigeria Ikorodu West led by Comrade Muyideen Yusuf are calling on all relevant authorities in the state to help rescue the vocational center which already is in shambles. The vocational center currently has no functional facilities such as training equipment, light, toilets etc. Presently there are no students due to the condition of the place



According to NYCN Ikorodu West, the center if well-equipped and in good condition has the capacity to produce at least 200 hundred trainees at the end of every session.
