During the 2007 elections, the government of Mr. Rauf Aregbesola changed the name of OSUN STATE to THE STATE OF OSUN. Please what is the difference?

The difference is to borrow money and not to pay for whatever the previous administration have borrowed

That's what happens

This man is a chronic idol worshipper, I don't even think he's a genuine Muslim.

That's why he exalts idolatry more than development all in the name of tradition.

He's just an embarrassment to the "New" Yoruba movement... Osun and Ekiti states are really lagging behind in the SW because of the kind of Governors they have angry

OSUN State implies that the State is not independent of itself. e.g.. one can say OSUN State 'OF' Nigeria meaning that the State is under a Sovereign Country called Nigeria.

WHEREAS:

State 'OF' OSUN implies that the State is independent with a Sovereign power. That is why Rauf introduced among other things:OSUN State anthem, Flag and coat of arm etc.

Take a further clue from 'United Sates OF America and 'American State'

this word 'OF' is a preposition that shows origin of something or where something belongs to.

Aregbe is telling us that the State is independent from Nigeria.

The difference is clear,
Osun state as known before is bubbling with seamless infrastructures and serious investors trooping in bounds.

State of Osun is the direct opposite of Osun State,dearth of infrastructures, investors and partners are afraid and confused of the name change... That's why they are always in the news negatively....that's my humble take.
