Our dear Urhobo and Isoko leaders have started with their pragmatic sepatism again, those elders should go and sit down,is the struggle just for the ijaw man. When will they stop criminalising the Ijaw people for goodness sakes and let's all dwell in peace. The struggle serves a positive purpose not just for the Ijaw not for the Niger Delta alone cause ultimately it weakens the strong standpoint of foreign owners of regional assets and channels the path towards actual federalism and resource control and productivity which is what the nation needs. Urhobo and Isoko elders and the constant divisions of ancient origins should know the young generation don't stick with them in their polarity but we stand to tackle issues much more truthfully true carel near and far conseuqneces of choices objectively..I rest my case.Off to church |

I wish Kachikwu good luck. He has started what he cannot finish. Instead allowing politicians to handle this issue, he is going into a dangerous area. I only wish him luck. |

I'm sorry but the bolded is a dumb question. Firstly, our system of government is archaic and mundane. Not compatible with the 21st century. Secondly, what has other governors been doing with their 87% allocation from the Niger Delta? Our leaders are corrupt but so is every leader in Nigeria. Corruption in all forms is bad, but you should hold other regions accountable first for the free allocation they have been receiving, not the Niger Delta. tbaba1234: |

papayeye:Frank Kokori and Co, what are your suggestions, treat them as criminals and go after them, you guys claim you know too much I would suggest you cohorts lead the assault against them. The problem we face in the Niger Delta is more of a fundamental problem, you were one time a NUPENG executive what good did your office bring to the Niger Delta region, what legacy do you tenure leave, apart from your getting involved in fighting Abacus leaving your primary constituency to suffer, now you want the Avengers to be treated as criminals, if you had done your job well we would not have Avengers today, Frank Kokori I will advice you hide your face in shame and remain silent, you have nothing to offer us. On the way forward, if the govt will be sincere in the negotiations and do the needful no group will come up again, sustainable developmental projects should be done in the region, that will take away militancy, massive infrastructural development should take place also this will get a lot of people busy |

Millerz:I really want true federalism to come so we can see the laziness of the Niger Delta and it's inability to support itself and progress. How can a community be developed when violence is the order of the day , where all foreign workers are kidnapped on sight and destruction of the little that is available is freely done without leaders speaking out against it. The truth remains this struggle is selfish in its aim and has abused the collective plight of the average Niger delta in achieving it's personal goals of enrichment . What has dokubo , Tompolo Boyloaf etc done for Niger delta beyond receiving money every month, what has the NDDC done for communities in Niger delta , what have your local government chairmen, legislators and governors done. Nil is the answer and given these are the individuals who would be entrusted with your extra wealth come federalism what would change ! |

Millerz:No one argues that the system must be reformed but if we are honest with ourselves, it will not happen until FG diversifies that economy to the extent that it feels comfortable doing it. Now, the Niger Delta state get more allocation per capita than all the other states.. Why are our governors owing salaries? How many people are in Bayelsa, for instance? What was done with all the money when oil sold for record prices? The problem is not only a federal problem, it is at the local and state levels.. It is at the village level.. That said, the frustration in the Niger Delta is real and valid.. especially with the loss of economic activities. |

NOETHNICITY:DSS? Bro The department had been compromised..When Buhari came to power he changed the face of the Department by replacing The Much experienced and Trained ones under Jonathan with Ordinarily Mobile Policemen who doesn't even know how to handle the DSS Sophisticated Weapon....you must have heard of the event tht too place some months back when an operative of Nigeria’s Secret Police, the Department of State Security Services (also called DSS or SSS) accidentally discharged his weapon in the presence of the visiting Danish Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Kristian Jensen". Which way my brother..I weep for this country |

malton:The govt gave up way too soon? Thank God we are not in their shoes. The bad precedent was PMB cutting the budget to the region as he did and provoking them. That was 8 years of work down d drain. The amnesty programme had stabilized and how much were spending. Then the new Sherrif destroyed it all. Now we hear there are many ethnic groups. This is what happens when a leader is ignorant of d structure of his environment. Sad to say, PMB really does not know Nigeria's geography or ethnic groups. I am sure all this Urhobo thing is sounding like French to him. It will be fought to recover. The budget has already been passed. So, how do u convince them? |

Millerz:My worry with the Niger Delta is the fact that the Federal Government has to come down to us and do things for us. What have the Governors been doing for the past how many years? Yes, there is a strong need to develop the Niger Delta. It cannot be in the same state it is today, polluted, ravaged by both the government, vandals and militants, and yet provides the major income for the whole country's development. But from another spectrum, Apart from some Federal Projects, the State and Local Councils are practically doing nothing with Federal allocations and none of them has been interested in pegging the holes of corruption and wastage or fostering unity. So, while I think it is unfair on part of the FG not to allow more control of the resources and revenue from this region under the principles of true federalism, what have we done with the little we have had? Remember/recall the Parable of the Servant and Talents? Have the Niger Deltan Leaders been able to unite the various tribes and ethnic groups or divide them? Have they put the people first of have they used the people to amass wealth and power? What have we done for ourselves with the little opportunities? We have had Ministers, Vice President, President, Chief Judges, Heads of Government MDAs, etc. We've headed the Petroleum Ministry, DPR, NPDC, NIMASA, NNPC, NAFCON (of blessed memory), etc. etc. etc. In my opinion, 100 Googol dollars will do only little (perhaps 1 borehole) in the Niger Delta if it's leader do not put such funds to a united, good, sensible and prudent use. Even if 500 ministries of Niger Delta affairs are created and 1000 NDDCs, the funds will still find a way of leaking out if the leaders and politicians do not direct themselves towards working for the masses and the people. Also we need to hold these leaders to account and channel our bravery into ensuring accountability by the Government not only at the Federal Level, but at the State, Local Government and Ward Level. |

Tinubu remains the biggest Looter in Nigeria's history. so I ask, what has your grand looter done with for the average Yoruba on the street. Kidnapping is now rampant all over Nigeria, not the Delta alone. Moreover when was the last time you heard of a foreigner being kidnapped?? pls say what you know. And once again I repeat, you have no right to condemn the avengers. All other leader and past governor has been corrupt in Nigeria so why single out the avengers?, are they the cause of the bad roads, epileptic electricity, decapitated health care system and mushroom educational sector in Nigeria today? You whine about how lazy the Niger Delta youths are... How many people do you think benefit from the fraud (aka amnesty program), huh? I bet its its less than 0.01%. So tell us, how hard working the Yoruba's and Hausa/Fulani's are. If they're that hardworking,,why go to Abuja monthly for free money?? sweetgala: |
