Hello House,

I applied online for a visiting visa to Canada and did my bio metric capturing on the 21st of April. I will be traveling to Montreal for a summit where I will be speaking. My flight leaves on the 19th of June.

However, I have not received any mail from CIC requesting for my passport.

Here comes my question, is there anything one can do to expedite the process? The organizers on the summit have tried all possible means to get VAC to fast-track the process. So, please, what advice do you have for me and the organizers, cos a lot of preparations have gone into this summit? Thanks.
Sorry to say this, they treat each application according to their pace. You shd av applied earlier.

I have read through this thread and I must say that is
really helpful but I still have some questions to ask.
My intention is to apply for permanent visa to Canada
but with all have read I think Tourist Visa is the easiest. If
I apply for Tourist Visa and they grant it, what is the next
process to take for me to get the permanent visa.
I work with a financial institution here in Nigeria.

Why don't you just apply via Canada FSW? That's actually the best way.

Hello All
Just to share the good news of my visa approval with the house. I have been reading several forums on the Canadian application for ages and was glad when the '' canada visit/touurist thread started not too long ago.

I submitted my application paper route on the 3rd of March and received the mail for pick up on the 22nd of April here in Abuja. To God be the glory i was given a 2yr multiple entry. This was my 2nd attempt and the 1st was sometime in 2012. Thank you to those that made contributions and responded to my questions in the past.

For the record again, i am really skeptical about this online application. I have colleagues here at the office whom we all submitted at the same period and 2 are yet to receive any response till date. The individual who heard from them just recently was refused and they marked Travel History Alone as reason for for the denial. Which gave everyone so much concern as he scanned 20 pages of all sort of Visas and stamps of Europe and US trips and courses(am talking of the double pages which meant 2 pages was counted as 1 page). This was so worrisome and made one wonder if the documents where ever downloaded and viewed at all! The mail said it was processed in ghana. It seems online apps are now being sent anywhere for processing now. Cant recall where i read that. I have read and over read stuffs in my quest. Thank God it inally paid off.

Just my thought!

I have gain admission to study Intensive French Language and culture in McGill university for one session.I am 23 years and currently self employed.I own a grocery shop and it is registered in my name. I have gotten the acceptance letter from the school after paying fully for my tuition and insurance. I have also fully paid for my off campus accommodation (Home Stay). My mother will be sponsoring me. I will attach my personal bank statement with about Thousand CND. I don't have a business bank statement but have my business registration and tax clearance. My mother is a trader and only pay tax to the municipal authority as her business is not registered. What are my chances of getting Visitor's Visa for my short studies?

i would like to know my chances of getting a Canadian visiting visa because i was banned from coming into the US for 5years after visiting once. Unfortunately on my second trip i was banned because i answered no to the homeland officer when i was asked if i had kids, meanwhile i had said i had a kid to have a higher chance of securing my visa at the embassy . i was told by the visa agent i used to say this to them, unfrotunatelY i forgot thinking i would not have any problem since i was visiting for the second time
its been a year now and i would like to visit canada and would be processing everything my self. what are my chances?.

NB. I have an account of 2 .5million in nigeria, Euro account of 3grand and i have my business in nigeria.

Why roaming? Get a local prepaid sim card in canada. You should be able to get one for $19:99 to $39:99 depending on data plan you want.

I am planning a religious tourism to Canada. Do I need to buy the ticket before applying?

Looking forward to hear from you guys.
