Mehn this is one force i respect whenever am travelling
They dont laugh, and u must pay something before pushing...
Just today as we were coming back from the holiday trip, we were almost at our destination when we saw that tall lanky uniformed man climb the main road and motioned us to stop, we all froze!! knowing that we ain't getting out of there without spending thousands.
we started asking "Dad did u have fire extinguisher? did u have triangle? mommy wear sit belt

Well to cut the long story short, they checked us for close to 30mins and we were made to pay some undisclosed amount because of no triangle n expired papers...
But seriously have never witnessed someone escaping those guys without bribing them....

I got the shock of mine life last year when i was ticketed for having a lacerated number plate.Have to forfeit an important seminar,because mine DL was confiscated.

I have perfected the identification method for these uniform people...the way they flash their headlamp, their composure/disposition, slangs, etc...

FRSC: Oga can I see your licence?
Me: e spiri' d'corps!
FRSC: Which Corps, ID pls?
Me: November Oscar, i'm an India Tango there (then i mention an Air Force Command very far!)
FRSC: But r u not with your ID?
Me: It got lost when I when we were responding to a Seria Oscar @ Adamawa...but you can radio this number for clarification (i have already arranged my guy-in-crime to pose as an Air Comodore, same thing i do for him when he's flagged down)
Meanwhile, i carry Air Force insignia, service belt across my dashboard, & well-shaved

I had an experience with them while I was still in the university.
On that faithful day, I was rush to school for a test that was scheduled for 9am, mid way into my trip I bumped into them, they were like eight of them, with five of them scattered in front of my car. I had no option but to slow down and trafigated like I was going to allow them Bleep me up, as soon as I did that they all cleared, and I gave my car a full throttle while the shouted 'stop him stop him!!', that is just one of my many encouter with FRSC and I will never stop for them except Army is in their front.

I have run foul of them twice. At Alagomeji, close to Zenith bank, i was stopped. My driver's license had expired, road worthiness had expired the month earlier and i had no bin in the car. Them squeeze 3k comot my hand.

The very next day i was caught again. By the same FRSC and i was accosted by the same man i paid the day earlier. A northern man with slashing tribal marks. I explained to him that i was still processing my papers and that i met him the day earlier. The man no even look my face. Told me to bring 5k last. Omo story change o. I told him i don't have. They towed my "tuke tuke" to their Yaba office and deflated one of my tyres. I had to pay about 4k into their bank acct.

Do the right thing, obey all the rules and u will never have to bribe them.

I have escaped them many times.

Once they stopped me because of fire extinguisher( I have one, I never knew it was empty, because I have never used it for once, I only removed the pins)

I dragged it with them that I have fire extinguisher, I even brought it out and tried to press it, but nothing came out, the young guy just laughed @ me and showed me the metre like something that has clocked zero. I was made to understand that once the pin is removed, it wouldn't take time the content will evaporate even if I have not used it for once.

My mouth was agap because I was very surprised to learn that. I guess the guy realised that I never really knew it has finished. He allowed me to go and advised me to buy the ones that comes in canisters(spray). When coming back, I bought it, and when I go to their check point, I stopped and showed the guy the new spray. Anytime I pass that very point, I am never stopped by any of them, because d 1st guy made me know many of them. Once I get to their check point, I always slow down to hail them + my sister is a 3star officer.

I almost clear one of them lately... God
