The embattled former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Senator Ali modu Sheriff has declared Monday’s Governorship Primaries in Edo State as illegal and a contraption of an illegal care-taker Committee and has urged members nationwide especially in Edo State to disregard it.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission signed by the National Chairman and the National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo. the Party through the letter urged INEC not to give legitimacy to what happened in Edo and said that the party is going to conduct a proper primary in the state.

Also in another statement, the party released a scheduled congress in Edo State to start from June 23rd-June 29th with the inauguration of Congress Committee scheduled for Thursday. Also in another statement, the National Chairman warned state Chairmen and officers of the party to desist meeting or having anything with the illegal Caretaker committee and warned that anybody dealing with them is on his own.

In another statement also, Sheriff also announced the appointment of some deputy national Officers as members of the National Working Committee in acting capacity. The party said that it is acting in pursuance to a resignation of five (5) members of NWC and in accordance with the provisions of sections 39(2), 42 (2), 43 (2), 44 (2) and 47 (6) of the Constitution of the party 2012 as amended.

The newly appointed officers are: Mr. Okey Nnadozie – Acting National Organizing Secretary, Mr. Alonge-Niyi Dennis –Acting National Youth Leader, Mrs. Hannatu Ullam –Acting National Women Leader and Barrister Bashir Maidugu –Acting National Legal Adviser.

The appointment, he said is with immediate effect.

But no candidate is buying form from you, Edo PDP does not recognise you as it's Chairman, so you want arrange people to buy form from and conduct your own primaries? It will not work, it's time to pack up Sheriff and move on you can't win this fight.

I would have voted apc if someone other that obaseki aka oshiomole's boy boy had not won the primaries, as it stands now,I would rather vote for accord party that to vote for obaseki,after all its about the individual not the party,pdp had better put their acts together

SHERIFF is a product of GEJ just like other JONTHAN's products his trade mark is very clear. GEJ brougth him from the then ANPP a building block of APC and gave him presidential recognition, power and strategic assignments. Sheriff was actually planted in PDP by GEJ not by APC as those who hate to hear the truth are thinking.

What many of u don't know or realize is that many of pdp governors and elected political office holders are anxiously waiting and anticipating the breakup of pdp in order to give them a very valid excuse to leave the party. Very very soon some pdp senators will start citing the continuous power struggle in pdp as a reason for leaving the party
