There are so many reasons I'd consider settling down with a man. Definitely not because of his culinary skills.

There are three things involved, he's either a mummy's boy, really lazy or depended on women allot in his single years(because you can't tell me he ate out all the time). For some reason, I doubt I'll get along with men like that, I prefer independent people.

Marriage is partnership, and it means working together.

A man should be able to look after himself and stand strong, likewise a woman.

Society has made people over-dependent on others, which shouldn't be. A woman shouldn't need a man because he can give her money, so also a man shouldn't need a woman because she can run the home and take care of him.

Both partners should complement each other, and not one solely relying on the other.

Since when did culinary skills become a male requirement in addition to the natural duty of building a home and providing for the family?

So the daily challenge of putting food on the table is not enough; I must also learn to cook the food?

Any lady who cannot marry a bloke without cooking skills is #OnHerOwn. Not sexist, note. Rolling out my opinion on a grass of facts.

That is not to belittle the importance of men possessing cooking skills. My only grouse is when you make it a compulsory factor to the exclusion of more important factors such that it has greater influence on your selection of a future partner. That is when the sublime becomes the really real ridiculous.
