The news these days is filled with cases of child molestation by adults. Some of the incidence leading to this can be avoided if the children are equipped with adequate knowledge right from the early stage. No one will be able to capitalize on their ignorance.
HERE IS A LIST OF THINGS YOU NEED TO TEACH YOUR CHILD(REN) AT EARLY AGE :

1. Warn your girl child never to sit on anyone's laps no matter the situation including close relations.

2. Avoid getting dressed/UnCloth in front of your child, once he/she is 2 years old. Let them understand the value of privacy.

3. Never allow any adult refer to your child as 'my wife' or 'my husband', reprove it immediately.

4. Whenever your child goes out to play with friends make sure you look for a way to find out what kind of play they do, because young people now sexually abuse themselves.

5. Never force your child to visit any adult he or she is not comfortable with and also be observant if your child becomes too fond of a particular adult.

6. Once a very lively child suddenly becomes withdrawn you may need to patiently ask lots of questions from your child.

7. Carefully educate your grown ups about the right values regarding SEX. If you don't, the society will teach them the wrong values and peer pressure will bend them negatively.

8. It is always advisable you go through any new material like cartoons and movies you just bought for them before they start seeing it themselves. Many of these are laced with negative sex.

9. Ensure you activate parental controls on your cable networks and advice your friends especially those your child(ren) visit(s) often to do so.

10. Teach your three-year-old how to wash his/her private part properly and warn them never to allow anyone touch those areas and that
includes you (remember, charity begins from home and with you).

11. Blacklist some materials/associates you think could threaten the sanity of your child (this includes music, movies and even friends and families).

12. Let your child(ren) understand the value of standing out of the crowd. Being different from others is never a crime.

13. Once your child complains about a particular person, don't keep quiet about it. Take up the case and show them you can defend them.

Remember, you can't be too careful.

Thank you. I used to think how I'll protect my children from molestation when I start having kids. My neighbor her children are 11,9,4,2.. She will just naked all of them and say she wants to baff them.. You will see the big boy and his senior sister.. Naked waiting to have their bath. What rubbish!

Only God can guide the heart.

Most of Europe have nude beaches where every one is always naked(practically very on on your street) and still they don't have high rape cases. It's the population of places where they wear pant, tight, padlock the inner short knicker and wear jeans that have high rape case.

It obviously means here is something wron wit a black mans brain.

Ps. What we don't understand is this. It is what you shield, hide or deny the human eyes from seeing that sends signals to the inquisitive part of the brain to uncover that mystery either hook or crooked method which usually starts from the younger age.just like a mom putting pot of stew in her room, the young lad would always find a way to enter that room without her knowledge to eat from that pot to satisfy his soul that is that not it?

Oga, this thread is for "How to guide your children against molestation" and not to argue about Religion. Either you're Muslim or Christian, it doesn't count here. And I even wonder if you even bother to read the disclaimer at the bottom of every page on Nairaland especially the part where it says "Every Nairaland member is solely responsible for anything that he/she posts or uploads on Nairaland" . . . You Need To Grow Up!!! undecided angry

A deh tell you.

Most of secondary school students now even sow their uniforms to look like a mini gown. Way above the knee and tight. You don't need Wikipedia to know what's up or the boys with school uniform already smoking sk all around your area

12. Let your child(ren) understand the value of standing out of the crowd. Being different from others is never a crime.

Just teach em d value of being the best. No too much grammar.

No go fite person on top wetin u no knw. Jst dnt allow ur child meet with such person, daz enough

The tips are meant for GRA based " ajebuter" parents. A culture vast traditional parents brought up his/ her child to appreciate the "do' and " don't "of communal life which not only prohibit any form of sexual molestation but all form of abuses. You do not need to memorise tips about parenting, you imbibe it from your parents. The way you are brought up has a form of correlation with how you train your children. Do not sit on laps, do not call a kid your wife, do not visit neighbours are cosmetic child rearing tips. Parenting is natural, an innate skills, it is not learn through any formal approach as intend by the poster. If parenting is to be learn as a subject, then the kids of the educated ones could have been the best mortally but it is not so.
