It was quite late when I decided to retire for the night. I put aside the office work I'd been on and proceeded to my bedroom upstairs. Grabbing my phone as I went, I realised the lead light which indicated I had unread messages was blinking.

Tapping the screen, I navigated to WhatsApp messages. Frowning as I saw I had a message from who else but Barbie herself.

Quite surprising after the way she blew me off earlier that evening.

Barbie: What sort of title is CYBORG for crying out loud?

I couldn't help but smile as I promptly replied her. It had been an hour since she sent the message so she might be asleep now.

Me: CYBORGS are awesome!

I dropped the phone on the side table as I got into bed but the sound of its buzzing had me picking it back up. She had replied.

It got me smiling again as I was quite glad that she was still awake. Settling into bed, I read her message.

Barbie: Hey, Playa...still awake?

I raised a brow, why did she have to call me a player? I wasn't that way.

Me: Playa? Me?

Barbie: Yeah, that's the idea behind your display name, isn't it? Cyborg? As in half human and half robot, no emotions and no attachments.

She was quite perceptive, no one had ever cared about what I decided to call myself but she had to go and dissect everything.

Me: I am not a Playa... Seriously you should stop branding me all these names. You've called me quite a few in just one day. It's quite unnerving especially when it's not true.

Barbie: You mad?

Nah.... I wasn't mad, not yet anyway.

Me: No, I'm not mad I realised with you, I have to try to be extremely patient.

Barbie: You're still a Playa, anyways.

Me: Seriously?

Barbie: Convince me otherwise.

Hmm, I thought for a moment about what made me different from a player and came up with a few reasons.

Me: I don't play ladies, a player misleads the females he's with. I am always upfront about everything, I let you know it's no strings attached.

Barbie: So you think that makes you a better person?

Me: Yes, I don't lie and I'm not misleading, so the lady gets to make her choice and she understands the choice she is making.

Barbie: If you sleep with as many ladies as you come across, you're a Playa in my books.

This lady could be so bloody pigheaded. I decided to remind her she was no saint herself.

Me: where do you get off being a judge anyway? You seemed to understand the arrangement pretty well yourself.

Barbie: That was due to a brief lapse in my control, I needed some good sexual healing myself that night… so I fell for your charms against my better judgement.

She defended her actions and I had to shake my head.

Me: You sound like an even higher grade of a Cyborg than I am.

Barbie: LOL! I do, don't I? Still, I'm no Playa.

Me: Aren't you?

Barbie: No, I'm not. …

Me: But you left my place like a pro.

Barbie: The sex was over, why was I supposed to remain there?

Me: Classic Playa moves. Makes you a Playa in my own books.

Barbie:

Me: You mad?

Barbie:

Me: wasn't nice how you left though, I'd meant to repay you in kind. I still want to.

Barbie: No thanks, I'll pass.

I frowned. Why in the world would she pass? Their night together had been sublime, or was he the only one who thought so?

Me: Why? I thought we had a great time together? I know I was quite passive but only because you wanted control and I let you. Did I read something wrong?

Barbie: No, I told you, You were a brief crack in my control. I got what I needed at the moment and now I'm good. Thanks for your help when I needed it.

Hmm, now that wasn't weird. Had she used me for sex?

Me: Gosh, I feel used.

Barbie: LMAO! I didn't use you, it was consensual and we used each other to our satisfaction. By the way, you owe me ten grand, and I collect my debts.

Me: Sure, you can collect it over dinner tomorrow evening.


I tried again. She might claim she was done with me but something told me she liked me. She was attracted to me, I recalled our kiss in the storage room, she could have fought me if she had wanted to but she had melted into me really easy. Moaning and kissing me back, even pulling me closer. If I pushed a bit like I did at the club, I might crack her defences again.

Barbie: I've got a dinner appointment

Me: Like the one of tonight?

Did she have dinner with different men every evening? She was a hot, seductive lady, she definitely had a long line of men falling at her feet for attention.

Barbie: I had a manicure appointment tonight, not dinner.

I frowned. Wait, was she for real? A manicure appointment?

Me: You blew off my offer for drinks because of your nails? Seriously? Who does that?

Barbie: I do, obviously. Do you expect me to cancel my life because you asked for drinks? Seriously Dave? The girls who flock around you dying for your attentions might do that but if you want sometime with me, you've got to ask early, like days before and then I might consider it if I've got the time. I am a very busy lady.

Wow! The ego! I thought. Who did she really think she was giving me this sort of attitude?

Me: Seriously? And you had the gall to call me arrogant and conceited? Egotist should be your middle name.

Barbie: Goodnight Dave!

I flung my phone to the side, pissed. Unbelievable! She had blown me off to go paint her nails. Who in the world did that?

The more I thought about it, the angrier I got.

I was to blame for all this, I was the one chasing her all over the place. She was an obvious flirt. She got a thrill from the attention she got from men, that was the sort of person she was.

Or was she? She had said I was a brief crack in her control, what did that even mean?

Was it that she never had one night stands or that she didn't have sex generally. Who didn't have sex?

I wouldn't really be surprised if she didn't, she was an even worse version of a Cyborg than I was obviously. Controlled, unemotional and extremely arrogant.

She had said she had needed some sexing herself and that was why she had gone on with the one night stand. She did have sex, maybe not all the time but she did and she did it beautifully well.

Wait, could she be in a committed relationship? I had never asked and she hadn't implied that she was. Could she have cheated in her boyfriend? Was she feeling guilty about it, was that why she had said I had cracked her control.

Thinking about it all left me feeling confused. All I got were more and more questions. Why did I even care anyway,there were many more where she came from.

I decided to put her out of my mind forever and get to sleep. I really didn't need this.
