I've read about 6 of the books. There are some books i wont advice people to read in thier early tweenties, books like the mafia manager by V and 48laws of powers, its gives you a kind of mentality that makes you wanna take undue advantage of others thereby violating the golden rule; "Do unto others as you would they do to you". I had to start keeping these books away from my siblings at home who are just in thier formative years as at when i read them. I so much believe in Napolean Hill's assertion; "One can always be succesful without violation the right of others". |

SMARTKOSSY: so you belive anyone is destined to be poor? There is no such thing as a 'single' destiny. There are 'destinies' in front of a man. And this destinies. are decided by situation, timing and most importantly choices we make in life. Both conscious and unconsciously. that's why we need God to help us make the right choices. so we are on the right destiny path 1 Like |

I have read three of the books listed above.. Rich Dad Poor Dad(Teaches about investment and risk taking, being an entrepreneur pays), The Richest Man In Babylon(teaches how to earn gold, protect your gold n make it work for you) The Mafia Manager( it teaches about mind control n being hard) Warning:this book is kinda evil if, you are the religious type, please don't read,it is not for the soft hearted. It gives you that kind of criminal mind. 1 Like |

I have read all and still read them once in a while. The art of war is good but if u really want to understand it u should read the commentaries (there are many). 48 laws of power is not my favorite I rather read 50 law of power (by Robert Greene & 50cent). Rich dad poor dad taught me how to take risk as a young man & I am wha I am cos of that. The richest man in babylon taught me how to save money. I have to say kudos to op for this post. (would have shared more but gotta work) Any forward thinker should get those books (I dnt jst me read buy own them all). and yes OP you need to read 1. Spirit controlled temperament (Tim Lahaye) 2. Purpose Driven life (4got the author) 3. Gifted hands (Ben Carson) 4. Think Big (Ben Carson) I will check my library for more... |

Rolings: You are right Sire. Most of the illustration and examples in those books are only obtainable in the western world because of the kind of system they operate. Their society is almost in a perfect state unlike Africa. Most time, it's often difficult to apply what you read in such books here in Nigeria because it's a two different world entirely. Most of the rules and laws in such books can't work here in Nigeria because our system is so archaic. My dad happened to be a lover of foreign books. His array of books run into hundreds. I Ve read most of the above books because of my dad. He makes sure I read any when he is done. Sometimes I tell him, this books only work in an idea society but unfortunately we aren't in one. So I just read them to build up myself and make good contributions during debate or arguments. I'm reading a book now tilted " How to stop worrying and start living" by Dale Carnegie. All the examples illustrated in the books are white men. I didn't see a classical example of a black man. I became worried. When I know how worried an average Nigeria is when he gets up from bed every morning. I couldn't apply them because I get worried over many things. It is easier to be less worried for the white because the government take their burden as his unlike Nigeria where the government doesn't even care if you existed. Those books are powerful but it will benefit you only if you have a foreign mindset about life. 3 Likes 1 Share |

"You must be so self centered as a person. All your recommendations save for the Holy books are all uninspiring, egotistic ones. I wonder why 'christians' read such. Christianity' teaches selflessness, the exact opposite of what those so-called 'inspirational books' does. You didn't recommend simple novels to try to help the dying written English and perhaps spoken too. Most people here writes "am" instead of "I'm " (I am), "is" instead of "it's" (it is) etc. You don't notice such, but I won't blame you much. The value system is totally in shambles " I don't think we are here just to learn grammar, how did you know about the book if you have not flip the pages |

These 3 books will put you against even your parents because when they act, you will be kind of felt they using one of the princeples in the book against you. Honey there many good books to read. These ones here are toxic to the mind. |
