When you talk about the first rap queen in Nigeria, Sasha P comes to mind, born Anthonia Yetunde Alabi on 21 May 1983; Sasha came into the limelight with the trybesmen and she was the first and only lady of the trybes record.

Now what happened to Sasha? The last I heard of her was in 2012 when she opened her own clothing line “Eclectic” did the first Nigerian female rap queen give up on rap music?

Did you know she was the first ever Nigerian female artist to perform at the 20th anniversary of the World Music Awards in October 2008. She was also the first Nigerian female artiste to win the Best Female Award at MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA).

Sasha had a large fan base in Nigeria, I was and still am her fan, she paved the way for endorsement deals, she was the first Female Samsung ambassador, and she was the Dagrin of rap music, paving way for other female rap queen to be recognized.
Sasha the rap industry needs you globally, please come back, apart from Eva Alordiah, no one sings anything related to rap music, I don’t even know what the beauty queen munachii sings, she should just stick to pageantry.

Sasha P all your songs were a hit back to back, even now Peter of Psquare has stolen your name, he now calls himself Mr. P, but you’re the only P we know, not only were you the first rap queen in Nigeria, you were the first sexy as hell rap queen with ass that would put the likes of some celebrities to shame. You need a comeback Sasha we at Underground contest says so, your brand of rap music hasn’t been heard in Africa for a long time and we miss that.

Africa’s No.1 Hip-Hop community needs you back in business, your core rap fans too. Just another hit song and all the other rap queens would know who’s main queen of Nigerian rap. it’s like comparing Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj, we all know who’s boss.

Still,
Isabella
