Do you think that the government of the other countries did not pay compensation?
The information you gave is misleading, the railway is 1402 and not 748 km long, even if you hate the president fear God

Wao, sincerely this is a very good development with railway interlinking those cities; great indeed.

Kudos to the government that conceived this idea and to the government hoping to complete it.

Buy isn't 400 too small? anyway 400 is something or maybe he meant 40000
400 jobs available for thousands of worker.

Was this another route Goodluck Jonathan planned to steal $5billion from this phony project? Why is PMB not revising the contract? Who now takes the extra 4 - 5$ billion, because we all know it wont cost 11.2Billion>

Before you all crucify me. Kindly look at the average cost of Chinese Construction of railines from the well respected Railway Finance website http://www.railway-technical.com/finance.shtml

This is not an underground rail line neither is it a high-speed. Let us even assume it is high speed, we are looking at $10 million per kilometer.

Even at the price, if we take 800km to be the total distance, we are looking at $8billion at most. Who steals the remaining $5 billionhuh?

Nigeria is a dead country. I continue to say this. We are a dead nation. Even after "spending" all that money we may not even see the rail way. Just imagine what someone is planning to steal in the name of change?

Again, I repeat, Nigeria is sunken ship. We are a dead nation. No hope for a corrupt cesspit!

Did you also calculate the cost of importing the materials like steel? China makes her own steel, so rail way will be cheaper to make for her than for us. I also have my doubts about the budgeted money, but I need facts to confirm my suspicion. Did also consider skilled labour? Foreign workers will demand higher than Local workers. I'm not sure how to do the math, but I think it will be more than 8billion (your estimate)

I understand we have strong ties with China, but the Chinese run double standard. Why not invite a European country instead. We still have ties with Britain and they are proficient in engineering.

Change is here to stay. It might be slow, but believe me we will surely get there. But what about the 60 billion naira budgeted for the project. Someone should please explain where that is going to

Yes you might be right... But consider the cost of laying the foundation in swampy areas. Most of the towns are swampy except from Ore down to Lagos.

Contract was awarded by GEJ but he didn't implement it.

Rather, he used the money to buy yams for his fellow Yam eaters.
It's funny how pple just open their mouth and say nonsense. Awarding a contract does not mean the contact has been funded already, so if it's not founded hw would the money be used to buy yams for ur kinsmen. And one of the areas the present government acknowledge the effort of the past administration is the rail sector, there where on going projects in that sector and not all can be founded at the same time b4 u Open ur mouth and ask why it was not founded.

Their are good Chinese company but CCECC i don't actually believe in dem, It was alleged that the company was brought in Nigeria by Tinubu and he get certain percentage of every awarded contract. Well that's not the issue the main issue is the some of the roads they constructed in Lagos don't even last up to two years and it begins to spoil and their is this particular road lasu -.iyanoba road which is not even big this pple keep patching and working on that road 5-6 yrs after constructing the road.

That's messed up. Even at international industrial relationship level, our 'leaders' are still influencing our growth negatively, hmmm. Let's wait and see. My concern is about the dangers of dealing with double standard practitioners.

. The construction of this railway will provide jobs to thousands of Nigerians.
Really?...I wonder if use of local labour force is in the contract. In the past we've seen even unskilled Chinese labourers come here to work on projects....projects that should've employed huge numbers of locals. Would Chinese prisoners be working on this project? And why the training of locals on how to build factories and not training on how to maintain the railway?
