How many of those games did he start in? And Wenger hasn't even said he's a replacement for Giroud.
Meanwhile that dude looks good and will only get better, he can use both legs, can meander and score even when surrounded with players, he scores with head too and can move with with the ball with good pace.

People are getting ahead of themselves and exaggerating this signature. Takuma's signature is purely a marketing move for Arsenal FC as an organization and not the team, nothing more.

Arsenal has a very strong marketing presence in Asia, the strongest in the premier league, maybe rivaled by only Manchester United and this signature was intended to promote the continued dominance in the most stable Asian market (Japan).

Takuma has not played enough games for Japan, thus, his situation is synonymous to that of Campbell when he was initially signed and sent on loan.

Japan and Asia wins because one of their own would ply his trade in Europe, he would hopefully develop and stake a claim in the Japanese national team, Arsenal (the organization) gain from the market in Asia by personalizing the Arsenal brand in Asia.

Wenger specifically stated "he is one for the future", again this depends on how much he develops while on loan, depending on where he is sent to play.
