Rubbish .African Leaders are just bunch of dullards who cannot bring out any original idea except it is copied from Europe, Americas or Asia .Different Africa countries have more pressing problems of poverty and starvation insecurities, illiteracy than opening up boarders that will compound the problem of porous boarders. This will only increase insecurities and Cross boarder crime without yielding any appreciable economic advantage to a country like Nigeria. That it worked in Europe does not mean that it will work in Africa.our case is far different

This brings to mind the verse in revelations that says 'they shall use one currency'. Maybe this is slowly unfolding in our eyes.

You sound like Donald Trump. You're a closet-bigot, and should be ashamed of your views.
Dude, forget trump....
There is nothing beneficial without its detriment .....

By the time terrorism and insurgency freely flow into Nigeria more than we have now, we will know AU passport is not necessary in this dispensation.

Most African Nations are still backward including Nigeria, Egypt, ZA and more ....

Terrorists/other world powers can hijacked this beautiful moves to deal with semi-sophisticated African nation like Nigeria, ZA even Ghana .....

we are a very weak continent and our unrestricted togetherness will still further be abused ....

ISIS is watching .....

The only African countries rejoicing about this AU passport are poor countries. They'll flood other African countries they deem economically viable. And many citizens of those economically viable countries will lose many jobs to foriegners!

Nigeria economy, named the largest in Africa, is only good on paper, many Africans will flood Nigeria with the false hope it has strong economy.

This AU passport will mostly benefit companies, business travelers, economic migrants and terrorists.

I'm not sure South Africa would like this.

I like this idea, but how will it work out when you go abroad? Also, how long until some idiot takes a pic of it and says, "I told you Africa was a country." XD
Wasn't Africa like a country?....without borders?...where people were free to travel wherever and whenever they like?....until the Europeans came and confine people to pens called countries? With AU Africa would once again be like a country .... not idiotic to say so.

I doubt if Nigeria needs a union to belong. I was even hoping we pull out of ECOWAS. What can I say? It is not as if we can even secure our borders. There are more NIGERIENs leaving at angwan dere gwagwalada Abuja than there are NIGERIANs.
What is the benefit?
This people don't pay tax.
Most are criminals, stealing from people who buy them the bike the ride or stealing the bike of other riders.
Which is more, they get to vote as if they are Nigerians.
Some even enjoy more benefit in Nigeria than other NIGERIANs.
I tell you with how things are going, a Nigerien will rule Nigeria before a Gwari and this is sad.
What is the benefit of the free movement of ECOWAS to Nigeria
Let's answer this before opening our borders to Somalis and more Nigeriens.

It is your country. Do you know if u had refineries, you would've selling fuel to your neighbours. You country don't know anything abt comparative advantage

At the moment, it is easier for an American and a European to access most countries in Africa visa-free than for a fellow African to access their neighbours. What a shame.

You are forgetting that Africa has been home to truly ancient civilizations. Most famously, Egypt is so old that Cleopatra lived closer to our time than she did to the pyramids. There have been sultanates, empires, kingdoms, chiefdoms, and princedoms. The idea of sovereign states with defined hard borders is partially a newer one, but peoples have always had boundaries, just more amorphous and informally enforced than they are now. The imposition of representative and federal governments made knowledge and location of the ruled more important than the older days of kings.
