Twitter has taken serious action against the Niger Delta Avengers account by suspending its account.

The account of the militant group was suspended on Monday, July 4.


A visit to the page of the militants’ group showed this: “This account has been suspended. Learn more about why Twitter suspends accounts, or return to your timeline.

” The group has claimed responsibility for series of bombing of oil and gas pipeline in the region on the basis of agitation.

The group has also used its social media account to broadcast warnings and threats against the federal government and oil companies. Details of destruction of oil installations were also broadcast through the medium.

Meanwhile, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state issued a warning to the federal government security outfit in the Niger Delta region on how they handle militants in the region. Dickson, who specifically cautioned Rear Admiral Joseph Okojie, the new commander of the Operation Delta when he received him on Friday in Yenagoa, the state capital, asked them the security agency to be professional
