And why are some mofos claiming that the Spanish government is trying to milk Messi? Are these people mad or what? Is it only Messi that is mandated to pay tax in Spain? Are tax percentages for Messi different from that of other sportsmen? Is Messi above the law? Isn't it the same Spain that Messi is earning his living in or is he plying his football trade in England (where taxes are much higher) and taxed in Spain? Aren't other players such as Ronaldo, Bale, James, Suarez, etc. paying their taxes?

The way these my countrymen blindly support something, someone or a cause in the most terribly biased manner makes me wanna puke.

Gareth Bale hitting new heights ahead of Euro 2016 duel with Cristiano Ronaldo
Gareth Bale goes head-to-head with Cristiano Ronaldo in Wednesday's Euro 2016 semi-final. The Welshman has outshone his Real Madrid team-mate in France. Is it a sign of what's to come?

It was January 2012, and Gareth Bale had been summoned to a shirt-signing session near Tottenham's old Chigwell training ground. The Welshman was emerging as one of the Premier League's brightest stars with Spurs, and this was the kind of marketing commitment that features regularly in any top-level footballer's day-to-day schedule. see full story here

Are you the one that will put him in jail? Whether he appeals or not, he's not going to jail.
Besides he was 18 when this incident happened....he didn't go to school. So where do you think he got MBA from?

People need to take responsibility. Tax evasion is a fancy name for stealing. Once someone is jailed even for one day, he becomes a criminal.

What are you talking about? Messi makes the money, not his father. The names on the account is LM. Why do people pay financial organisation to manage their accounts and taxes, it's for efficiency. If they don't do it well, you can only fire them but the government goes after you.

I pay a company every year to do my taxes, i pay because filing taxes can be complex sometimes and may not get it right myself. If they don't do it well, the government revenue agency goes after me not the company.

Yes, that's my point!! You get blamed for stuff that's not your fault. A lot of persons on this thread are calling Lionel Messi a fraud.......and that's not fair.

See Mr man. I m not deliberately hating Messi.
18 years is an adult age.
Whether he knew abt the fraud from the onset or not is not the issue.
He has benefited from his fathers 419 brain & he should face the music. Just imagine if this happened to CR7.
You ll v criticized the hell out if him

He's paid the fine levied on him. Also, I don't criticize people that I don't actually know unless their sin is apparent.
