Says, ‘you’re a disappointment to South-West’

FOREMOST pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, yesterday took Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the cleaners over a statement credited to him that the call for restructuring of Nigeria was a waste of time.

The vice president was also reported to have argued that if states were given half of the resources of the federal government it would not make any difference and that all needed was for the country to diversify into agriculture. Afenifere national publicity secretary, Yinka Odumakin said in a press statement that the vice president, who is from the South-West, might have been mounted pressure on to dismiss the call for restructuring by powerful forces within the corridors of power.

The Afenifere spokesman took Prof Osinbajo through a tutorial on what restructuring was all about since his objection was centralised on sharing of money from the federation account. “While we understand that the learned professor, who is from the zone that has been loudest on this call, may have come under pressure to lend his voice to the upholders of the status quo that has brought Nigeria to this sorry pass, we would like to respectfully admonish him to be sure footed on the subject before he speaks next time.

“He misses the entire debate by engaging in the reductionist argument narrowing the whole issue to taking more money from the federal government to the states. “Yes, fiscal federalism is part of the argument but the issue goes beyond the monthly Federal Allocation Committee. “The central plank of restructuring is for Nigeria to go back to the true practice of federalism wherein mineral resources that abound in all states would be freed from the exclusive list so that states would move into prosperity and not be reporting at Prof Osinbajo’s office for bailout from a centre that only corners what belongs to the states.

I knew Osinbajo wasn't really expressing his sincere opinion.
Too bad!!

All these yoruba one nigerianists questioning and answering themselves in the name of osibanjo and afenifere to make it seem as if they truly want restructuring are not deceiving me. Yorubas are only using afenifere to confuse people. they want one Nigeria just like northerners no true igboman should be deceived.

Has Afenifere returned the millions they collected from GEJ or are they waiting for Samdo Dasuki to mention their names?
