fujirice:Bros, the thin tire me o. I am not from the south east but i must say that it is unfair to mock and accuse traditional rulers from SE of collecting grazing fee when we know that every community with a traditional leader in all parts of the country are equally guilty. This is pure hypocricy. Instead of making a laughing stock out of the situation, we should be happy that an igbo man just came out and spoke the truth that other tribes cleverly avoid discussing in public. Every community should as a matter of urgency hold meetings that will help discourage this shameful acts by greedy traditional rulers. North, west, south, east, we are all guilty of this accusation. No mans life is what the greed of another man. God Bless Nigeria |

omenka:I thought you were banned ooo,you were mentioned on a thread so many times on the fulani herdsmen thread, yet no single comment from you |
| Re: Enugu Traditional Rulers Collect Grazing Money From Herdsmen by Remii(m): 7:32am On Jul 13, 2016 |
fujirice:that is the practice everywhere not only in the SE, these guys pay to graze your harvested farm, bring the animals and leave a small boy to guide the herds, the boy either roam away or sleep off, the farms has no boundary and the animals dont know crops from harvested area, when they go beyond the allowed area, the farmer tried to stop them , boom ,they become violent thinking you want to stop them from what they have paid for or steal their animals. Language barrier aggravates the situation too. This happens all all over the country. |

2dugged:That is because I was born to ALWAYS ignore idiots. So don't ever expect me to respond when an idiot mentions me- doesn't matter if the thread is covered with only my moniker running into 100pages. ![]() By the way, stop stressing yourself about me, you would be a lot more happier if you do, trust me. I will comment on what I feel like commenting on and would ignore what I feel like ignoring and there's absolutely NOTHING anyone can do to change that. ![]() |

Yorubanews:You know you can't say this to my face. Enjoy the anonymity nairaland provides for you. Heck you could be my neighbor next door only to become a heartless person on a faceless forum. You still haven't answered the question I asked earlier. Collecting money from the herdsmen, is it a license given to them to kill? |
| Re: Enugu Traditional Rulers Collect Grazing Money From Herdsmen by fujirice: 8:17am On Jul 13, 2016 |
Remii:What irks me most is how we celebrate when one section of the country is under siege. Is that how low we have sunken? No more compassion whatsoever for our fellow humans just because they are from the other side of the Niger. It's very bad! If Igbos are this bad of a people to share the same country with Nigerians why not let them go? What's all this Igbos are greedy, igbos are wicked, they don't love themselves but they've been clamouring since time immemorial to leave but Nigeria government won't let them. What sort of double standard is that. We agree that we igbos are greedy and wicked, so please, Nigeria government should allow us to go and practice our wickedness within ourselves. The greatest deception of all times in the modern world today is Nigeria's unity cause there is nothing like that! Shikena! |

anyicash:This has been my question to them yet no one could answer it. Collecting money from the herdsmen for pass is it a license for them to take another man's life? Other places they are wrecking havoc as well, did the traditional rulers of those communities collect money from them also. |

I still do not understand how collecting grazing fees authorized the killing of people and destruction of farmland. Igbos who own shop in the north pay revenues and other charges, so whats the big deal? it is a personal business hence the must pay both revenue and taxes. nobaga: |
| Re: Enugu Traditional Rulers Collect Grazing Money From Herdsmen by FBLJ(m): 8:52am On Jul 13, 2016 |
madridguy:You sound so irrational. Igbos in the North that do business do they pay taxes and levies? so what has greed got to do with charging grazing levy? Are the Fulani Herdsmen not doing business? every business owner is supposed to pay his levy. besides how do the payment of grazing justify killing of people? you hate igbos but you wont let them go. do you realize how many communities are surviving on the levies this igbo traders pay? lets stop playing with issues that concern human lives. |

omenka:Be that as it may, that doesn't give the herdsmen the right to go marauding and killing. It doesn't at all. What's wrong is wrong, and what's right, is right. |

The average Igbo man inflicts pains on their kindred more than outsiders. I am waiting to see what Biafra will look like. We don't love ourselves. I mean how can ![]() |
| Re: Enugu Traditional Rulers Collect Grazing Money From Herdsmen by Olabestonic001(m): 10:36am On Jul 13, 2016 |
fujirice:Yes, its done like that in every part of the country. The Fulani's mostly pay royalty to the Traditional leaders there. But, most people grouse against Igbo's is that they make it seems their leaders never knew the Fulani herdsmen. As if those guys came to encroach on their lands. As if they had a better system than everyone else. Worst still is the fact that their leaders have not been lampooned for his role (no matter how minute) but other tribes have been lampooned. Their defenses are mostly fraught with bigotry and myopism. They've made it seems the Yorubas and Fulanis must be blamed for their woes while they aren't helping matters. Interestingly, they'll jump upanda that they stand for justice (mostly according to their own bias). I heavily condemn the killings in Nimbo , but the elders who collected money from Fulani herdsmen and didn't carry his people along too neither could he prevent the attacks from his "business partner" must also be indicted. |

you people should stop making stupid excuses. day after day for many years you've been calling funali's murderers, exterimists, barbarians e.t.c what kind of men invite such people into their home because of money how can you collect money and give access to people you already labelled murderers and rapists its like knowingly selling your land to an armed robber when you know he will move into your neighbourhood ![]() |

sometime i wonder the type of journalism nigeria media practise, it is crime or greed for igbo chiefs to collect levies from this fulanis cattle herd men and i don't how people make there comment without reason like human beings. collecting levies now warrant killing of innocent souls or destroying culvated farm lands, Yorubas without brains we rush to comment negatively on this issue without reason. here in lagos, go to any market u see touts coming to your shop to collect all types of levies even last week one came to my brother shop to collect owo iya oloja, owo awon boys, owo weekend, owo dis, owo dat different kind of levies. |

fujirice:You are an hypocrite for your statements. Igbo's are the ones who always rejoice when there is an evil act from other tribes on Nairaland. The joy they displayed when NDA blows the pipelines, Ijaw militants attacked Lagos and Ogun communities etc, shows they are evil minded to others. So, you want those they hated to sympathise with them on the days of their own calamities? its "un-jo" (unless they're pastors) |

panditocracy:Don't condemn evil, be there ranting like a goat on heat. Go and see Uncles raping nieces, fathers raping daughters and now traditional thieves bringing the fulani herdsmen to unleash mayhem on their own kindred and you are here shouting "yoloba" because I condemned the action of some of us. Are you more Igbo than me? Anuofia You are one of those giving Igbos bad names. Maybe na you and your uncle collect the grazing fee ![]() |
