Personally, I'll deal with corruption, 1st n foremost! Imagine all d money being expended on MDAs' over d years actually being used for what they where allocated for?! The bad economy n security are all as a result of corruption!

We've been having yearly budgets that are supposed to improve d welfare and quality of life of citizens, yet some individuals have been siphoning it into private pockets!

Imagine if all d security votes meant for d NE, were actually used to prosecute d war on terror, do u tink tomatoes would av ever received such prominence?

NDDC, NDM, 13% derivation, Amnesty: imagine if all d monies voted into each of these programmes hadn't been looted?! If projects to which funds were voted for were actually carried out, d ND would have been a mecca of sorts to d whole country!


Keep it real, corruption is d bane of development!

So how would you go about fighting this corruption of yours? That is if you even understand that it is so pervasive and has become a cultural thing in this country.

Methinks the current government is going about the fight the very wrong way.

If he wants to use this current method then a change in constitution should come first.

Fighting corruption should be about putting systems in place which makes it extremely difficult for looting to occur. Not jailing and terrorizing people with EFCC and DSS.

Mind you that corruption is not looting or stealing. It is a far broader term which encompasses the aforementioned and much more.

We also need serious reorientation because even most of us today casting aspersions at people in government will do even much worse if they ever get the opportunity.

Corruption is a way of life in Nigeria.

The country is in a deep mess mehn.

There has to be a safe and secured atmosphere for you to even think of the word corruption or economy. After security then corruption or else your goody goodies will be dasugated and kept abroad.

One of the those things that pisses me off in this country is, more news of "ghost workers " keeps emerging from FG, States, LGAs without news of prosecution or arrest of suspect or "victims". So how will this crime stop? Since when you catch a ghost workers thief and his only "punishment" is please steal no more with publication in a National Daily without details of his/her names .

you dont attempt to pour water into a leaking basket as it will keep leaking. You block the loopholes first so that whatever you pour in will remain. so i will say you tackle corruption first before anything else. if not no matter how much you make, corruption will keep eating them up.

Findings like these are the gimmicks they feed to their zombie followers while monumental corruption as you rightly pointed out are being down played.Lets open & thoroughly investigate the Halliburton's scandal,Siemens scandal,Burataigate, Danbazzogate,Fasholagate,Amaechigate, while we continue with the Dasukigate, Methuhgate & any other corrupt "gate" that need thorough scrutiny.Selective fight is a complete NO!

You can't tackle Bad economy with corrupt men around you...They will still divert to their personal accounts whatever made for tackling the bad economy.

Example...you want to have a marriage party and made available 1million naira for drinks and foods,and the organizing committee end up stealing 800k,Tell me how 200k can make the party get to the level you wanted it.

Corruption is the major thing that got us to this level,So Corruption should die first.

Because

1.When you have corruption, you drive off investors. Investors do not like coming to a country where they have to pay bribe at every step of the way. Less corruption=more investors.

2.Corruption also jeopardizes security. For example, bad weapons being bought for the armed forces (see the scandal about the Alpha jets.) and long term, if money earmarked for a school is stolen, that means that the school is not built, kids get zero education , grow up into frustrated adults who become prey for Boko and company.
