If you missed the news read it here » https://www.nairaland.com/3227386/truck-attack-nice-france-bastille The vehicle mounted the kerb then went back on the road, zigzagging for up to 2km (1.25 miles), as the driver deliberately drove into people knocking everything in its path into thin air. This attack is a clear pointer to the fact that terrorist can successfully carry out deadly attacks even without guns or bombs. The extremists up North (BokoHaram) probably saw the news, now that they can't freely bomb people or shoot into crowds...they may employ this tactics in the near future. How to avoid being killed in this manner... 1. The driver obviously targeted the large crowds celebrating Bastille Day. Avoid large gathering of people especially on motorable roads. Owanbe people should take note. 2. If you must be in crowd, be very vigilant. If half the people that were killed in this attack were vigilant enough they probably wouldn't have died in this attack. The lorry drove for about 1.25 miles while zigzagging in an attemp to hit more people, this coupled with the screams and confusion should have been enough to alert the ones far away to quickly get out of the way. Now you know guns, knives and bombs are not the only weapons in the hands of terrorist. Lorries can kill too, and in numbers. Be vigilant. R.I.P to those that lost their lives. |

@OP Owambe events don't hold outdoors anymore. People now rent large decorated halls for such events, cos Owambe has become an industry. |

bloodyBLOGGER:True, but there are people who still block roads and streets because of owambe. And then there are those who celebrate carnivals on major roads. All these will create easy target for terrorists. |
