The conditions are: watch and pray or pray and watch, meaning after praying watch out for opportunities that would come and take action, or if you see an opportunity, take action and pray accordingly.

Most poor people only do one and not the other.

Opportunity to make money or improve ones life sometimes aren't that obvious at face value.

At the same time prayer should not be from the stand point of fear or weakness, but confidence, joy, gratitude.

Besides, talent is simply a desire, I hope you know, so there is nothing particularly special in "talent"
I'm just stating that if how we pray directly results to our prayer being answered then all the poor people would have been very happy today with the result of their prayers, because I have seen them pray with so much faith, hope, desire and full of expectations and yet nothing.

Much of our prayer life can sometimes become about how much faith we have. We think that our prayers are answered when there is maximum faith and minimal doubt in our hearts. Otherwise it's best we try again.

But the power of prayer lies not on our faith, but on the finished work of Christ.

Faith is wonderful, and the Bible says that it is faith that pleases God. But is it also the determinant of whether our prayers get answered and how fast they get answered?

So much of the teachings on prayer nowadays focus on having more and more faith. These teachings say:

● "You should believe God more when you pray for the sick."

● "Stop doubting when you pray for financial provision and God will open the flood gates of heaven."

● "Your family isn't saved yet because when you pray, you don't pray with conviction."

Faith is important and vital to our everyday life. But do we really gain more faith in prayer by believing more and learning to doubt less? Isn't that in essence trying to get our prayers answered by our own strength?

When we think this way, then we fail to realise how faith really comes. Faith comes not by our own ability to believe or our own ability to remove doubts.

We need faith, but sadly many of us have misunderstood faith. We think it's about how much we read the Bible, how much we think about God's goodness, how much we shut out the fear when praying, or how much we cry and kneel when praying. When we think of faith this way, it now becomes faith relying on our attempts and no longer on God's power.

Hebrews 8:1-2 reminds us that it is through Jesus alone that we can now approach God in prayer. He is the high priest that mediates for us and stands on our behalf before the Father to come to His presence and offer worship, gratefulness and petition. That's why we end every prayer by saying "in Jesus' name."

Many believers pray today thinking it's their faithfulness that will get prayers answered. We watch for keywords, traditions and rudiments unawarely thinking that's what will get our prayers answered.

Even the simplest of prayers will be answered when we realise that it's God's faithfulness and not ours that answers prayers.

God's faithfulness to hear and answer our prayers does not depend on our rudiments, our works, or our ability to shut our doubts and fears. It's God that works out our faith and it is His perfect love that casts out our fears.

Lord
to fully understand faith. ask holy Spirit to reveal to you why faith is both gift and fruit of Spirit.

Op, I disagree with you... The no 1 prerequisite for prayer is Faith. If you have faith in God you can do all things and everything. FAITH is very important in the life of every Christian.

Well, from my own understanding, some poor Christian don't think they are poor because they feel they are rich in the Lord and they are at peace with themselves. so they don't pray for riches like you and I, they will rather pray for more souls be saved they also believe riches can make you miss the kingdom of God.

You are rich does not mean you are loved by God and if one is poor does not mean his prayer has not been answered. Because some christains want worldly riches while others crave for heavenly riches.

I was a Muslim. I gave my life to Jesus less than 2 months ago and ever since then I have been at peace and my life has really transformed gracefully. Please like/share my post to welcome me. THANKS

I understand how you feel, being rich or being poor do you think it is God's doing ? don't forget God gave us power of free will and power to rule the earth and enjoy everything in it .

you don't REALLY NEED GOD to be rich , these are within human control . most Nigerians are poor because of her system of government which makes her citizens run to GOD and become prayerful . do you think in most developed countries citizens classify rich and poor ?,no! all citizen's rights are met ,social amenities are provided .

Nigerians just pray and call God for things they tort to themselves. looting ,mismanagement of resources and embezzlement. all these God has no alteration .

Doubting is allowed in Christianity. Thomas, Jesus disciples was a doubter. He made heaven.

Faith is overrated. You don't need bucket load of faith. Small faith is OK. Just like a mustard seed.

You no get faith, you no get faith is just a 'get of jail statement' by gods of men. I mean pastors undecided

Op What you failed to mention is this "Faith without work is dead". James 2:14
Example:
1. If you are seriously sick and refused to take appropriate medications, no matter how much faith you have, how much you pray, and how much you believe you maybe heading to the wrong way. According to Apostle James, Even though you pray and believe that God is able to heal you, it is still your responsibilities to sick for medical help. If not your faith may be for in vein.

Yes even poor Christians that pray for heavenly riches, I don't believe their prayers get all that answered. because with time they become fanatics, and think everyone is their enemy and that every bad thing that happened to them must have spiritual meanings, their line of reasoning are out of this world and they become hard to live with... like they are always unhappy.
If truly their prayers are answered then like you, they should be at peace with themselves of which most times they are not.

He doesn't ignore , you being alive is a battle he won . evil has been in the world before the creation of man , we are to snub and disregard it in our path of righteousness.

evil doers enjoy now and will suffer in hell for eternity while the good doers will join God in heaven . as I said earlier earth is not home heaven is , that is the way God designed it . dont be carried away by the temporary enjoyment on earth and discredit God's work .
