Well I don't think I will mind. If for some reason I'm unable to cook for him and a friend of his is kind enough to help out, I will be quite grateful.

I think thė underlying thing here is trust. The man obviously doesn't trust his wife, if not he should be glad the burden is off his shoulders. Now he can concentrate on those things he previously mentioned.

Honestly I get gifts all the time from male friends, colleagues . . . . My husband has never really taken offence.

If however a guy starts showing romantic interest in me, I know not to accept anything from him so as not to give the impression that I may be open to an affair.

It always amuses me whenever I see people like you trying to quantify something beyond their comprehension. Citing your pick on my claim on my last post you quoted, it's obvious that you don't have the gift of high sensitivity and clairvoyance, therefore I don't expect you to agree with me that one who's a realist with the latter gifts can also be in charge of his environment. Don't argue further on what you don't know.

Meanwhile, someone like me don't long for "control" over anyone/environment, only manipulators/dictators (petty people) does such. I am a diplomatic person, so I only take pride in being in charge of myself (mandatory) and environment (subjective). ... the gift of freewill remains the best gift the sole creator of the universe gave to mankind, therefore every human being should be allowed to be in charge of their lives, why if in a group/environment the most prepared/willing assumes a primus inter pare.

Not a husband grin however, the issue is more of the circumstances surrounding the giving than the gift itself.

The husband should evaluate the situation based on the facts on ground (trust, previous affairs, friend in question etc.) and decide how to deal with it.

My question to such ladies is this. What will be your reaction if your husband said he just bought his hot sexy colleague a phone of 100k. I am sure you will claim it's okay, it's just a gift, he can even buy her a hermes bag too.

If the man gave her money to help pay for her children's school fees because her husband didn't have the money, I could even understand a bit. But for a phone? U go asking another man to buy you common phone. That is simply greed and lack of class. She can as well ask the man to pay for an expensive vacation abroad if her husband cannot afford it or buy her a better car. After all it is just a gift.

The day the man now asks for something in return then she starts complaining that men are bad. That is, if the man is not already getting something in return.

Why is it that people just can't say the truth on NL again? People will see evil and call it good just because it was committed by someone of same gender. So sad.
For all of you saying it's no big deal for the woman to have demanded and collected a 100k worth of phone from another man, I wish other men will provide things you couldn't provide for your wives while you are still alive.

I really don't know why a guy will opt for a dependent chick, woo her with gifts and financial promises till they tie the knot and then get angry when she exhibits behaviour in sync with the expectations he set up for her during courtship. Apparently, the wife believes a guy must foot her bills n before anyone says the woman is unemployed and can't afford her phone, wat happened to cutting ur coat according to ur material?
