Most of us grew up hearing complaints about how bad our leaders have been from generation to generation. But I was wondering if at any time Nigeria ever had a good
president or if Nigeria has never been fortunate to
have a good leader.
Who was the best president we EVER had? Whose
government was the best we ever had? Who was
the best president Nigeria NEVER had and why or
is it that we are just people that can never be
pleased

For me I think THE BEST WE EVER HAD WAS ABACHA because of the standard of living at that time, I could remember having uninterrupted power for months.

According to my parents , THE BEST WE NEVER HAD WAS OBAFEMI AWOLOWO.

The best answer to your question is Nigerians can never be pleased becaused atleast I can talk about the history of Nigeria since Abacha period.
Wll that I knew is that I Abacha was the worst president until we had Abdulsalam when Abdulsalam empty the treasury in the promise of handing over to civilian but he instead handed over to partial-military government of OBJ who created EFCC to fight his perceived enemies and loot a lot of money from the treasury. OBJ later bribe the NASS to vote for third term agender in pretence to monopolise the government for his life time but failed due to mass campaign against his wish.
When OBJ noticed that he couldn't achieve his aim, he then handed over to his closed friend's brother, sicker Yara'dua.
According to Nigerians, Yara'dua was too dull and sick to contol a big nation as Nigeria. He then later died of his sickness within the 3 years of his regim.
After Yara'dua's death, GEJ who was the next to him took over according to the constitution. According to nigerians, GEJ was too cool and dull to handle the corruption and insecurity challenges facing Nigeria during his regim so he was voted out and PMB was voted in subsequently with the hope that he is the messiah.
Unfortunately for the nigerians once again, PMB failed them for not meeting up with his promise.
The most unfortunate part of the story is that each of the leader was perceived to be messiah while becoming the president but nemesis while leaving the seat and later missing after leaving the seat.
Which way my country?

Don't know about Abacha though, I was still in primary school when he died. Personally I'd say Obj is the best we've had. Achieved much more than any other president when he was in power.

Don't know about Abacha though, I was still in primary school when he died. Personally I'd say Obj is the best we've had. Achieved much more than any other president when he was in power.

I was young when Abacha died too ( was in Jss1/Jss2) but I could remember vividly that price of things hardly changed that time. And there was stable electricity too.

PMB has not failed cos this is still his tenure and he is just barely over 1yr. Nobody said governance was easy but if its only corruption PMB fought in his tenure, then at least he achieved something. Better than the ineffectual buffoon!
