He Searched and couldn't find, as God would have it my DH stopped by his sisters house and she just made the soup! The guy nicely asked to be giving some for his inlaws pregnant wife and was obliged. Do you know that my sister in-law rejected the soup? Mamas please come to my aid. Ds took the 6weeks vaccine today. We got home in peace and he slept only to wake up with the highest scream I have ever recorded. He is crying so bad that he's choking in his tears. E jo e gbami o.. He has fever now and his temperature read 37.2 at the moment.
Please is this normal? We were advised against administering PCM. I have carried him to my back and this seem the only pacifier.
It's so bad he has rejected BM.
I can't believe this pain can be more than circumcision

Those doctors and nurses asking mothers not to give their kids paracetamol before vaccination need to be flogged.

In obodo oyinbo where these vaccines are produced, paracetamol is a MUST !!! You will be told weeks before the vaccination to make sure you give your baby paracetamol before bringing him for vaccination. In case you forget, paracetamol will be given to the child BEFORE the vaccination.

Paracetamol must also be given to the baby at regular doses AFTER the vaccination.

The reason for the paracetamol is to avoid situations like yours. Paracetamol does not in anyway inhibit the efficiency of the vaccines.

For the new meningitis vaccine, mothers are asked to also administer paracetamol before the vaccination and also have neurofen on standby and alternate it's use for 24hours.

At the stage of convulsion, paracetamol can't do jack. It's will be too late to reduce the fever at that stage with paracetamol and the baby will have to be administered drugs like neurofen.

Fever in babies can be very hard to control/reduce which is why everything is done in the first place (administering paracetamol) to avoid any fever.

Fever is one of the side effects of these vaccines.

Like I said in my previous post, at obodo, they don't joke with paracetamol for vaccination. At your 6weeks postpartum check, you are given a free prescription for paracetamol for your baby.

Why cause a baby so much pain and distress? this is in addition to the sleepless night(s), fear and panic the parents will have to endure. Something that 2.5ml of paracetamol can prevent.

Fever in toddlers and adults can cause great distress and are sometimes life threatening how much more a baby that's just a few weeks old.

@Mama Liftedhand, that girl is just spoilt plus no common sense,HABA! How person go big common sense no dey common for her side. I was exactly in her shoes some months back,was at my Sister inlaw's house to spend some time she asked me if i wanted noodles and I said no problem,anything she offers(Why ,because am in someone's house and shouldn't be giving them extra work),she made the noodles using grounded pepper and I had to eat it like that even though I don't eat noodles without fresh pepper(if it were to be in my house I would have given it to my dog or thrown it away,but I had to eat it cos its someone's effort and resource) . So the morale of all these my plenty story is that the girl is silly,don't bother calling her again,she should be the one apologising
