This morning, a container fell off a trailer on Ojuelegba bridge, but thankfully no one was hurt. Only last year, a container fell off this same bridge and landed on a jeep killing three people.

Continue to see more photos from today's incident..

When we start prosecuting truck owners with heavy serious business crippling fines , then we will stop seeing things like these, till then avoid them like a plague. Start with Dangote and Tata. How many lives have they taken due to their negligence? Yet we seem to blame the driver, if the reprimanding starts from the top management then the bottom crawlers will fall into line.

It's not truck owners.
The knee jerk scapegoat approach needs to stop.
80% of articulated vehicles accidents are caused by the government's INABILITY to ensure the road network are motorable always even to the minimum standard level.

Few, I repeat, few accidents caused by trucks negligence occur daily, while majority is caused by bad road.

Compare the number of accidents involving trucks and other vehicles or road users to accidents involving trucks alone.

Accidents involving articulated vehicles alone is higher, due to bad road conditions.

Ojuelegba bridge is in a sorry state.
