Let me wait here for some people to start crying "our land has been destroyed without corresponding development". The governors get the fund and loot them while the misinformed citizens attack FG.
Don't mind the yeye people, instead of them to hold their various state governors accountable for a penny recieved on their behave, they will start compounding their problem shouting FG,bombing pipeline and continue contaminating their environment while their civil servant will be on hunger strike because of their economy sabotages.

So because of the governorship tussle in Abia, they don't want to mention how much they gave Abia even when oil producing states were all listed. I understand shaa. Because it will make the judges presiding over the case to increase how they bill Ikpeazu.
This Buhari get sense die.

It's a shame Akwa ibom has to share it's oil wealth with other states . 13 billion naira is only $42 million dollars per month ($504 million dollars per year.) That's not enough to work with. You can't even run a town with that little amount . A single skyscraper(105 storeys) cost around $1.3 billion dollars. A 4-lane road on a flat terrain cost around $ 2 million dollars per mile ,and $4 million per mile on a hilly terrain.
The location of that ibaka seaport , Oron skyline should be littered with highrises by now . what an injustice !

Then I looked again at all the injustice that goes on in this world. The oppressed were crying, and no one would help them. No one would help them, because their oppressors had power on their side. 2 I envy those who are dead and gone; they are better off than those who are still alive. 3 But better off than either are those who have never been born, who have never seen the injustice that goes on in this world. Ecclesiastes 4:1-3
How much oil does Akwaibom produce, can you guess? you guys should stop unsolicited dumb analysis to score cheap political points.

Is Akwa ibom not currently the largest oil producing state in Nigeria? Don't be presumptuous.

Mention the volume then pick up a calculator. They are the highest producing but you read that Rivers 13% deriv is higher than theirs, how do you think 13% derv is calculated? most of you here are not old enough to read the dailies.

Sir stop this now. Don't repudiate what is glaring. If you didn't even know that Akwa ibom is currently the largest oil producing state in Nigeria, why should I believe that you can calculate the 13% derivation? I don't engage in online squabbles. This is my last reply to you.

As expected, the South South has collected their well deserved fair share. Nobody hear any complaints now.

But after the money has been squandered by their governors, the chants of marginalisation starts.

SSers should hold their governors accountable, Bayelsa and Rivers shouldn't have any business owing workers.

It's unbridled corruption that's killing the SS not the northerners.
CNT NIGER DELTA OIL MONEY BE RESERVED AND LETS USE COW MEAT AND GROUNDNUT OIL TO RUN THE ECONOMY ? NO! MANY NIGERIANS ARE LAZY ESP AFTER OIL WAS DISCOVERED. UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS SOLVED, MILITANCY WILL CONTINUE TO FALL N RISE IN THE ND.
MY QUESTION NOW IS: TO U MY FELLOW NL, WHATS THE WAY 4WARD?

I'm Afraid ,Nigeria may not be a developed nation in 500 years time . Examine cities around the world. You think those where build with 49 million dollars per month or 500 million dollars per year?

below is a high a high school in a developed nation with sports amenities :soccer field ,tennis courts and swimming pools .
i'm sure there are numerous good swimmers in the coastal areas of Nigeria, but Nigeria has none representing them at the Olympics due to poor funding and investment . it's a shame
You believe that is a soccer pitch? take heart bro!!

You are telling me some state is higher than another when you have no clue what they produce, are you ok?
Why will Rivers have a higher 13% than AK, If AK produce highest?
I have told you guys, leave the politics section, there are other sections like celebrity where emptiness will be well appreciated.

You no well! What business should a fvcking kano and borno state be doing with excess crude account? What of their bloody fvcking IGR? So you think we as niger deltans should be celebrating having the proceeds from our resources "shared to" us as if it was found in daura and the FG is doing us a favour? huh We want to share the proceeds of zamfara gold and kano groundnut or whatever pronto and ASAP! In absence of that, kindly shut da fvck up! angry

Sir stop showing your ignorance on a public forum. Don't you know that technically, the derivation principle does not signify the degree of control or ownership of resources as misunderstood by people like you? Or don't you know that the federal government owns mineral rights exclusively? In short, why am I even wasting time trying to school you when I know you don't comprehend simple things. With all these federal allocation and internally generated revenues, no state should complain that they can't pay their civil service employees.

I think all the state governors must be held accountable, insisting that each state provide its monthly or quarterly management accounts.

I doubt the authenticity of this news. It's just barely 3 days ago that they shared the allocation of 559bn for the 36 states and FCT for the month of June 2016. How come that of July came almost immediately and no other reputable news source carried this story, even the thisday source the OP included is fake. It's for May allocations of 305bn.. The mods should verify stuffs before pushing to Front page. This kind of news will allow people put unnecessary pressures on the governors, though I'm not excusing their extravagance.

You don't get it do you? the SS states have zero investment in the oil and gas industry, the FG is paying them 13% for operating on their lands and NNDC to address their LGA concerns, overall, their share with everyone else is channeled to "beeiring" and "peppersouping", in my opinion, it is a fair share, again, the right analogy you should use is this; the FG is paying them for doing absolutely nothing.
You can not ask for too much on another person's investments, now the states have collected their share, will they invest their cut in the oil industry to raise their stakes? Hell no!!
Guess what, they are waiting for the FG to invest it's cut, when oil flows, they collect their 13% for doing nothing then blow up the investment.
that is pure evil if you ask me.
It hurts my eyes to read comments from inbred idi0ts like you posing as educated and enlightened Nigerians! angry that your comments can not stick to pure facts because of your silly ethnic bias and yet you still want to be seen as open minded is just so damn annoying! undecided I remember your antics very well in defending the indefensible buhari pre-election campaign promises lies and fraud, your long epistles on how buhari can actually equalise the exchange rate disparity between the Naira and the Dollar! On how he can actually raise the price of crude in the international market amongst many other gaffes you must have forgotten.................so imagine why i'm not surprised to see your idiocy displayed here again calling the FG and your hausa/fulani inbred animals investors in the Niger Delta's oil resources!!! C'mon not everyone on nairaland is as illiterate and stupid as people from your region so be careful who you insult!! Leave Niger Delta oil alone and use the 200% returns from your groundnut sphinxes and pharohs tombs to go “kunu-ing" and "paedophiling" or whatever works for you retrogressive asswipes!! Your annoyance factor on the fact that you exist alone just spiked up! Watch it! Nigger is tempted to do you in!!!

Like your state of origin doesn't have developmental challenges and corruption problem, I wonder why u have some much hatred and acrimony about the Niger delta states, Mind u, U and ur generation can't sacrifice what the Niger Delta have been sacrificing 4 the Nation since 1956, so u better keep ur advice and hatred to ur becos is hypocritical.

The northers deserve nothing. Every state/region should exploit their own resources to generate income for themselves. Everyone should develop at their own pace.

Is this system where some people get money they don't deserve fair?

.... And that is why the Northerners will not like allow this present arrangement to be changed. That's why they will NEVER allow for the restructuring of this country because it favours them the most. So unfortunate!

Explain the derivation principle? how is it calculated? most of this madness in the media just has to stop, if you have no idea, hide in your cave, must feeble minds suffer because you don't know anything and you can't keep your dirty trap shut?
When you read a news article and you have no clue what it says, shut up or ask questions, even r@tarded persons do ask questions let alone you, next you will see another bingo open a threat harping this same nonsense you are spewing here.
Shut up if you don't know so you don't misinform others or ask questions.
