The Federal Government has confirmed that it will commence its National Home Grown School Feeding Programme in September with 5.5 million pupils nationwide.
National Programme Manager, Mrs Abimbola Adesanmi, disclosed this in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

She spoke at the opening of a two-day stakeholders’ workshop on the Ogun State Home Grown School Feeding Programme.

Adesanmi noted that the scheme “would accommodate pupils in Primary 1 to 3 at the outset, and would move to other classes once the nation’s resources improves”.

The official further explained that all the states of the federation would benefit from the social intervention programme, depending on their preparedness

Another way of wasting the country's scarce resources,
The have been surviving just fine without eating lunch in school,
The money could have been better channeled to building and equipping libraries and Ict labs for those kids.

This feeding of a thing is not needed, it's just a waste of money, no parent will send his/her child to school without feeding or giving him/her money to feed, the government should rather renovate dilapidated schools, buy necessary materials/equipments so as to make the learning environment easy, conducive and friendly.

Such children hardly concentrate in school because of hunger, You who is a hungry boy should know better. It's a laudable project.
