Its possible those files were somehow corrupted and your antivirus has removed them.
Try this and lets see if it helps, locate the search bar and type in the name of the document you looking for. It will be shown if its still on your system, then right click and select open file location to know where it is.

Some will delete it without any notice some will tell you to delete it your self.
Get kerpersky, it's the best.
Just follow the op advice to get your files back.
