I believe I.T. (Information Technology) related courses to be Computer sci/engr'ng, Elect/elect engr'ng. Well I have a degree in Mechanical engr'ng. I'm wandering if Information Technology includes Mechanical engr'ng in a broad sense

In a broad sense, it really does.

The world is evolving and so is engineering.

I saw a call for application the other day from TOTAL. They were recruiting engineers with intermediate knowledge of programming, Java, C# and the like....that got me like

2D and 3D CAD Designing, CAM and CAE are all direct products of IT.

Just last week, General Electric CMO Linda Boff claimed GE (a true "engineering" conglomerate) is a digital company. Everything is indeed going digital, and there's no digital without information technology!

u dont expect a Mech Engineer to be a Server or Net Admin, or an app developer etc. but they can have basic I.T skills that ll enable them to work easily in their delegation like word processing, basic programming skills
