A foreign manufacturing company, DAG Motorcycle Industry Nigeria Limited is set to establish a multi-billion-naira company in Ogun State. The company is to manufacture a four-wheeler motorcycle.

The company, which currently has one branch in Lagos, is the sole manufacturer of tricycles, popularly known as Keke Marwa and motorcycles.

The Managing Director, Mr. Monish Lakhani, who spoke in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital said the new factory, when fully operational would “transform” the transport industry in Nigeria.

His words: “We are now moving with two and three wheelers in the market but we have developed a four-wheeler product for our new plant.”

He spoke at a seminar organised by Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) on “Building Capacity in the Transportation Sector: Panacea for Economic Downturn: A Case Study of Commercial Motorcycling.”

Ok. But why not keke-tractors industry? At least we can use it to mechanise ewedu farming and boost the amala industry.
