What Crop Can I Plant In This Month (august) Of The Year) by melejo(op): 7:02am On Aug 02, 2016
I have a three hectares plus in Lagos that is meant for construction next year. I need to put the land to agricultural use till I'm done with approval. I need advice on what crop I can plant within this August knowing that rainy season will soon come to an end. I will also want to know how and where I can access the seeds. Helpful comment please

@Op:

Be careful,

Do a soil test.

Count your cost, then venture.

God bless your work.

Sincerely,

There are several factors to consider.... your market first; budget for the project; availability of an experienced and reliable manager and farm workers and machinery and various equipment; availability of water. Have you sorted out all that? Also how long before you begin construction? If you sort out all those you can decide what to plant.

abeg comot BUDGET from the list. person wey get over 3 hectares of land in Lagos no suppose talk about BUDGET in terms of short duration farming. Me know say you only incuded it for sake of completeNess.

He has to do borehole as me sef no fit farm ordinary 1-plot of land or less with no SURE source of water. me no get FAITH to rely on things outside my control. Moreover the boreHole go still help am as it still would be useful during the building constructions thereafter.

What I believe He lacks which is very important is experience as if He's got any, wouldn't be here asking such questions to begin with AND my fear on his beHalf is, He could easily fall prey and be taken advantage of. There are lots of fraudsters parading themselves as farm managers and developers looking for whom to devour and all they need catch you is telling you what sounds appealing and convincing.
