Forget the athletes' village, we're staying on a CRUISE LINER! Team USA basketball millionaires reject shared bedrooms for luxury life with spa, shops... and 7ft beds.

Team USA's men's basketball stars arrive in Rio de Janiero but are not staying in the athletes' village, instead they have chartered the Silversea Silver Cloud, which is normally used for luxury cruising. It has room for almost 300 guests but will accommodate a fraction of that and is moored under armed guard. On board stars including Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have access to pool, gym, spa and even a cigar lounge. Special seven foot beds have been installed to give them a comfortable night's sleep. One official said they would have been pestered for autographs and selfies in the athletes' village.

But two NBA stars are in the village sleeping on single beds - Australians Matthew Dellavedova and Andrew Bogut

Instead of the athletes' village, this is the luxury cruise liner where the NBA's stars playing for Team USA will stay. It is moored in the Port of Rio and watched round the clock by police from sea and land.

Under guard: A bulletproof glass fence has been built and given an extra layer of security to keep intruders at bay.

The cruise liner has had its normal beds (pictured) removed and seven foot ones installed.

The cruise liner boasts a wrap-around open deck for enjoying the sunshine between training sessions.

Who told you? If these guys are soccer/football players, would agreed with you bro. But talk of any other sport , Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Diving, Driving, Biking, Boxing, Cycling, Race/Running, Climbing, Rafting, Canoeing, Throwing, Jumping, Skiing, Skating, and so on. They wont waste fund on these, they will surely go home with something.

While the NBA players of Team USA enjoy their sevenfoot beds, these are the sleeping facilities for ordinary contestants in the athletes' village.

The village's buildings are divided between teams with the flags and names of the countries marking each block which their teams use, including (from left) Argentina; Australia; Armenia, Andorraand Ukraine; Germany; and Hungary and Poland.

The communal areas of the Olympic village are designed for athletes to come together - but the NBA stars are not going there because, team bosses fear, they would be mobbed for selfies and autographs.
