Am surveyor
Love civil 3D cos one stop shop for most of my CAD problem.
Wish Autodesk will invest more on survey functionality of the program.
Any issue with the program (usage) will assist as much I can.

Miscellaneous:
each time I download from this site , I cannot unzip it in my PC..... the website has corrupt files, I think so.

I wasted my Gigabytes to download etaabs, CSI safe & ms project & clearly, all is not unzipping since they are in compressed form

sir my problem with autocad civil 3D is i downloaded it from Autodesk browser download, but it is not extracting, it stuck a while at initializing and then crash, i tried any solution possible from googling, Pls any idea how i can extract and install civil 3d.

don't conclude yet that you have wasted ur data in downloading dem... am used to problems like dat..here is my say:

1. which anti-virus are u currently using?.some Antivirus are known to block file/softwarre extractions especially when the crack files are inside the zip/iso file.. if this is the case, just temporarily disable the anti-virus program and run ur software.
2. some of the files in the iso/zip software might be corrupted, you could Juust temporarily disable ur Antivirus also.. lemme knw if diz helps

Firstly, i'll advice you to take it one step at a time.. its better you perfect your AutoCAD before you start civil 3D..
AutoCAD is the basic software all CADs users should know. and all you need is jus a 2 to 5mins help and you are gud to go..with little practice, you'd be surprise at how fast you'd be learning.
secondly, If you have little knowledge of Autocad, then you can start to work with Civil 3D. i'll be glad to help by answering any question or problem affectin ur progress.. I av sum video tutorials and books.

I think you got me wrong...
As a civil engr, the software to use depends on the field one is.. I strongly agree with you

when I mentioned Autodesk BIM, I mean the integration of Autodesk softwares for civil engr(those into structures) like linking works from Revit Structures to Robot and to AutoCAD structural detailing.... I always run away from Architecture softwares like Revit Architecture coz it's boring to me and it's like a waste of time since its nt for me..

Am developing interest in more complex structures like bridges and roads(with ditches n co)..thus the need for a very good infrastructure design software like civil 3D....

so far, Autodesk Infrasture design suit seems like the answer to me....from Revit to Robot to Structural detailing to civil 3D to Infraworks and co..

Am trying to be a seasoned civil engineer..
